    Beautiful venue with a lot to offer

    Had an early May wedding at Birkby House and it was an overall incredible experience. The venue is in a perfect location, located in downtown Leesburg, making it easy to walk to hotels/restaurants/shops. The house itself is a stunning historic building and the reception hall is equally as beautiful, but with a modern twist. The team at Birkby was easy to work with and extremely responsive to questions. Would definitely recommend as a venue!

    The perfect venue for our perfect day

    We knew Birkby House was the place for us within minutes of our walkthrough, and continued to be confident in our choice up through our wedding day! The space itself is beautiful. The historic house is charming, and provides some great indoor spaces for cocktail hour/guest book etc. The outdoor courtyard is adorable, and depending on the time of year has some beautiful trees to elevate your photos. And the conservatory is the perfect place for your reception- the skylight!! Carleigh was an excellent partner throughout the planning process. She fielded my myriad of questions clearly and promptly, and was flexible with us on some of our requests. She has great relationships with many area vendors, and even went above and beyond to get us the vases we wanted after hearing us talk about them in our final meeting with her. Our day was wonderful, and I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere other than Birkby!

    Birbky was the most perfect venue! Carleigh and team are the best in the biz. Responding quickly to emails, helpful when I had questions. The whole venue is so well run and my wedding went seamlessly. Can't recommend them enough.

Birkby House is a historic estate named after the Birkby family, who emigrated from England to America in 1800 and set up residence in Leesburg. Today, it is a popular venue for weddings and events, right in the heart of historic downtown.
Exclusive use of the property, including the Main House, the Carriage House, the 50’ x 60’ tent, and the beautifully manicured gardens; garden games (corn hole!); white patio umbrellas; and, chairs/tables for your reception and cocktail hour.
Absolutely! Many of our brides and grooms use the gorgeous patio or gazebo to say “I do” and hold the reception under our beautiful tent, lighted with chandeliers.
The tent can seat 200 guests comfortably for dinner and dancing.
You can “save the date” with a $250 deposit. At the time of the contract signing, ½ of the total cost of the rental is due; the total cost = your rental cost + tax (6%) + security deposit ($1,000). The remaining amount is due 3 months prior to the event. Your deposit will be returned within 2 weeks after the event.
Weddings are blocked for 8-hour periods which include: 2 hours of set-up for vendors, 5 hours of guest time, and 1 hour for vendor breakdown. The latest an event may run is 10pm on Fridays and Saturday, and 9pm Sunday through Thursday.
If it rains, we will transform the tent into a beautiful ceremony area. We will move all the chairs, the beautiful archway, and all the flowers into the tent to create the perfect space to say “I do.” After the ceremony, we will quickly transform the space into your reception area.
Of course! The bride and her bridesmaids may pamper themselves in our beautiful bridal suite up to 4 hours prior to the event. Hair and makeup artists are welcome! Meanwhile, the groom and his gentlemen can dress and prepare in the groom's suite. Both spaces are luxurious and elegant.
Yes! Our reception area and bathrooms are handicapped accessible.
One Special Wedding!
We have a wonderful partnership with the Tuscarora Hospitality Group. We work exclusively with the award-winning Tuscarora Mill and Magnolias at the Mill.
Yes, you may stock up on all of your favorites! However, you must coordinate with your caterer, who will be responsible for serving all your guests. You must abide by state and county regulations regarding licenses.
Yes, there is ample free(!) parking directly behind Birkby House.
All music must be off by 10pm due to Leesburg's noise ordinance...but no worries! Birkby House is walking distance from several bars and restaurants – including our partner, Tuskie's – so you can keep the party going all night!
