Balcony Downs is a family-run venue offering a signature 3-day wedding experience designed to help you slow down, settle in, and savor every moment of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Your booking includes two nights of gracious lodging for 24, early access for decorating, as well as use of the space for your rehearsal dinner. The 235 acre historical estate offers panoramic views, multiple options for ceremony site and unique backdrops for amazing wedding photos. Balcony Downs Venue And Retreat
We strive to produce the venue outcome you envision taking every step of the way alongside with you.
The Event Barn is 3,700 sq ft with a fully stocked commercial prep kitchen, two handicap-accessible bathrooms, and a spacious reception area adorned with rustic crystal chandeliers and ambiance lighting. The barn opens up to large patios overlooking majestic mountains and rolling hills. The kitchen is stocked with serving dishes, chafing dishes, drink dispensers, commercial warming oven, a commercial refrigerator, a freezer, and much more. We also supply beautiful rustic wooden chairs, round dining tables, buffet tables, two oversized custom farm tables, and a stunning ceremony arch that can be placed anywhere on the estate. You also have access to our professional sound system and we maintain a large selection of neutral in-house décor that you can use as much or as little of as you like. There are three historic houses on the estate that are included in your wedding package. The Manor House sleeps up to 12 and is ideal for bridal party dressing and staging. The Icehouse Cabin sleeps 6 and the Farmhouse 4.

When you book with Balcony Downs, you get the entire 50-acre estate from Friday at 3 pm until Sunday at 11 am. Your reservation includes accommodations for the rehearsal dinner as well as early access to the Event Barn for decorating and set up. Summary of What is Included In Your Package: • Use of the property from Friday at 3 pm until Sunday at 11 am • 3,700 sq ft Event Barn • Use of commercial kitchen • 16 60" round tables • 12 72" round tables • 6 6ft rectangle folding tables • 200 rustic wooden folding chairs • 24 wooden x-back chairs • 2 10ft rustic wooden farm tables • PA sound system • 3 guest houses that can sleep up to 22 people in total • Handicap-accessible restrooms located on-site within the Event Barn • Our rustic wooden archway can be moved anywhere on the property for the ceremony

Our Experience Did Not Match the Presentation
Our Experience Did Not Match the Presentation - Venue Not Recommended Balcony Downs is a lovely property, and it’s easy to see why couples are drawn to it. My experience working with the venue, however, was very different from what I expected when we booked. When we were booking, the owner was warm, friendly, and accommodating. Our questions were answered easily, and we felt confident that they cared about our wedding. Once we had paid, the tone changed, and so did their approach to nearly everything. Expectations and agreements shifted, and communication became inconsistent. The easy, standard questions that come up before booking are the ones that get the friendliest answers. In our experience, that is not how the owner handled things once real questions or issues came up after payment. What we were told early on did not match what followed. The venue’s pricing sits at the high end of the market. Given our experience, we did not feel the value matched the cost. A wedding venue is a major investment, and the quality of the working relationship matters as much as the setting. We would recommend that couples look elsewhere for their special day.

Wedding at Balcony Downs
Balcony Downs is a pretty magical place and it's really hard to put into words just how beautiful it is unless you're there in person to experience it. From the first time we saw the property, we really knew we stumbled into something special. We ended up having our wedding there and knew we made the right call. Not only is the property beautiful, but it's unique in that you can have a lot of your loved ones stay on site. The bridal suite and groomsmen suite are both gorgeous, but the real draw to the property are the property owners, Celeste and Daniel. They are such kind people and really bring southern hospitality to life. They went above and beyond for us, way past what they were contracted to do, and we just can't recommend Balcony Downs enough. We were so emotional leaving after our wedding day because it truly was one of the best days of our life. If you have the opportunity to book them for your wedding, walk don't run and book quickly!!

Beautiful Balcony Downs
Working with Balcony Downs Venue And Retreat was a genuine pleasure from start to finish. The team was friendly and helpful throughout the planning process, responding promptly to every question and concern we had. What really stood out was how attentive the owners were to our grandmother in a wheelchair—they went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable and included in every moment. The manor house itself is stunning, and having the other houses on-site meant our entire wedding party could stay together, which created an incredible sense of community throughout the weekend. Set against the backdrop of beautiful natural mountains, the venue provided the perfect canvas for our celebration. The owners' decision to stay onsite and oversee everything personally gave us complete peace of mind on our special day.

From the moment we arrived at Balcony Downs Venue And Retreat, we knew this was the place for us. Celeste and Daniel were incredible—they helped with everything from golf cart transportation to directing our guests, and their kindness made us feel supported at every turn. The venue itself is stunning, with regal grounds and spacious layouts that felt perfect for our celebration. Their communication throughout the planning process was transparent and professional, which gave us peace of mind leading up to the big day. This venue was truly a dream come true, and the entire week we spent there felt special in ways we didn't expect. We loved every detail and can't thank the team enough for making our wedding unforgettable.

Great venue for a wedding!
Balcony Downs Venue And Retreat was the perfect choice for our wedding. The owners were incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the booking process and on the day of the wedding. They made sure the venue was set up and ready for our special day. The venue itself provided lots of great spaces for taking photos, which was especially helpful in case of rain. We were thrilled with the value and quality of Balcony Downs, and would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a wonderful wedding venue.
