After the contract is signed, you will need to pay a $1,000 booking fee and obtain event insurance in order to hold your date. After that the remaining portion can be evenly split and paid at 12 months out, 6 months out, and 3 months out from the event. Some couples choose to make incremental payments over this timeframe. If you send a check make sure the names of the couple and the date of the wedding is on the memo line. We also typically keep a credit card on file to cover any cost for repairs to the facility or grounds.
You can have a small guest count if you wish. Sometimes intimate gatherings are wonderful. Our typical cost for catering starts at $35 per plate.
We do allow you to choose your own caterer. Our chef offers a broad range of excellent options. You may also choose from some of our local caterers here https://www.meridianfarmstead.com/preferred-vendors
The property is 375 acres with almost a mile from one end to the other. We have many stunning sites. On your special day you will have 20+ aces dedicated exclusively to your wedding .
Yes, the Meridian House is available for the bridal party who choose the Deluxe Wedding Weekend and can sleep up to 24 guests. The first level has easy access for Grandparents who want to avoid stairs. See our pricing page for more details on lodging. Additionally, are a number of hotels within a 10-15 min drive from Meridian Farmstead in Lexington, Virginia.
100+ car may be easily accommodated in the area adjacent to the Meridian House or at our ceremony sites.
Yes, we offer dozens of 8ft straight tables and 16 of the 5ft rounds
No, but they may be rented through us. We’ll show you some options at your visit.
In the event of rain we will move the ceremony inside the beautiful Carriage House with auxiliary white wedding tents as needed for the guest count.
We only host one wedding/reception each weekend so our fee remains the same. The date and included options are yours to use as you wish.
Not usually. We are a working farm with livestock and often baby calves and lambs, If your dog holds a special place of love in your family such that you wish for the dog to be in the photos and present for the ceremony an exception may be possible based on the demeanor of the animal and someone other than the bride or groom designated as its constant caretaker.
We accept cash, credit cards, or checks. If you have interest in a tax deductible option for your event expenses ask us for details.
Do you have a cancellation waitlist? As soon as a date becomes available through cancellation, we post it for any of our couples to consider. We do not maintain a waitlist.
Your contract specifies the time that you will have access to the facility but usually from Friday around 2pm to Sunday at 11am.
We don’t, but our team is happy to help and work with the Wedding Coordinator of your choosing. We do offer an event Supervisor during evening hours as a liaison for the facility.
Typically the venue cost is 25% of your budget. Most of our couples choose the full Deluxe Wedding Weekend option $9,975 because it gives them time to relax, enjoy and reconnect We’re happy to discuss more intimate or less costly options if that’s your interest.
