About Reverie & Riot
Reverie & Riot
There is a particular kind of evening in New Orleans — when the light goes amber and low, when the iron balconies cast their familiar shadows, and the city feels less like a place and more like a feeling you've been chasing your whole life. That is what we build toward. Reverie & Riot is a luxury celebration design studio rooted in the French Quarter. We take a small number of weddings each year. Our commissions begin at $50,000 — we share this because transparency matters from the very first conversation.
We build for the couple who refuses to shrink. Maybe it's not your first marriage. Maybe your vision never fit the template the industry handed you. Maybe you simply want something that means something. Before we discuss florals or timelines, we want to understand the specific quality of evening you've been chasing. We work exclusively with New Orleans' finest makers and artisans — people whose craft we trust completely. Every detail either earns its place or it doesn't. Your wedding should feel like the first chapter of the rest of your life.

Our Amazing Wedding
Brandon and Adam of Reverie & Riot are, without a doubt, the reason our wedding on April 4, 2026 was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, they created an experience that our guests are still talking about. SO many people told us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to, and I truly believe that’s a testament to their talent and execution. We had over 200 guests, what felt like a million vendors, and a full weekend of events and moving pieces. Somehow, Brandon and Adam handled it all with complete ease and professionalism. By the time the wedding weekend arrived, I didn’t have to think about anything other than getting down the aisle. One of the things we were most anxious about was the weather, especially with our second line. Not only did they have a thoughtful plan in place, but they also brought in beautiful vintage umbrellas that looked absolutely phenomenal in photos, even with the perfect weather we got lucky with. Every detail felt intentional and elevated. Brandon, Adam, and the entire Reverie & Riot team exceeded every expectation with their creativity, organization, and calm, confident presence throughout the entire process. I truly hope this is my only wedding but if I ever needed to do it again, I would hire Reverie & Riot in a heartbeat. They are simply the best.

Save yourself the headache - do not book with R&R
I loved my wedding, but it worked out in spite of Crimson Quarter/Reverie & Riot - not because of them. These guys have rebranded at least 3 times in the last 2 years, and I'm pretty sure it's to hide from past reviews. They were the single worst part of the wedding planning process for me, and caused me months of anxiety. They were haphazard and unprofessional from the beginning despite a solid interview (apparently Brandon is a good actor). If I had to summarize our experience in 4 bullets: 1. Project management was non-existent. Brandon would declare he would take care of something (reach out to hotels, get a contract from a vendor, research buses) then take two months to do it. I spent more time chasing him than I would've reaching out to the vendors myself. They constantly missed their own deadlines to the point where we stopped trusting them altogether. This cost us both time and money (they told us our second line permits wouldn't cost more than 350; they clocked in at 686) 2. Absolutely no accountability. If something went wrong (and it always did), it was somebody else's fault. If you look up their reviews, you can see this in the Crimson Quarter (their previous brand) responses - long, accusatory essays as to why every issue was caused by someone else. Brandon once blamed his own husband for something he clearly messed up. 3. Everything was AI-generated from the start. Had I wanted to use ChatGPT to plan my wedding, I would've done it - and saved myself a lot of money. Instead, I sat through 9 months of sloppily generated presentations, photos, and documents rife with inaccuracies. Everything felt half-assed and lazy. 4. Unprofessional. For lack of a better word, they were just sloppy. I did not believe that they could clean up for our wedding. One of them had intense BO both times I met him. It gave me the sense that if they can barely take care of themselves, there's no way they'll be buttoned-up enough to plan and conduct a formal event. Our experience with Brandon Thorn and Crimson Quarter/Reverie & Riot was so negative that it got to the point where I didn't want him at my wedding because a) I would have spent the whole day worrying that they messed something up and b) I was so angry at them that it would've ruined my day every time I saw them. We finally fired them 2 weeks before our wedding, and it was the best decision we ever made (side-note: the day-of coordination team at Margaret Place is SPECTACULAR). Brandon will jump in here trying to get this review kicked off because we signed with their original brand, Crimson Quarter. However, the final invoice I received was for Reverie & Riot, so I have in fact paid for R&R's services.
Brandon Thorn•May 10, 2026We are so glad your wedding was magical, fantastic, and everything you ever imagined. You deserved that — and we mean it sincerely. What we'd also note is that it was magical with our planning, our vendors, and our coordination efforts — despite this review. You anticipated we'd challenge the validity of this review based on which brand you contracted with. We won't. You're right that your final invoice came from Reverie & Riot — because we were in the middle of a brand transition rooted in something far more personal than reputation management. Reverie & Riot was built to serve couples who don't fit the traditional mold — unconventional partnerships, non-traditional ceremonies, people who spent years fighting simply for the right to get married at all. As a gay man who spent decades advocating for marriage equality nationally, and who is ordained to officiate the very ceremonies he fought to make possible, this brand represents a full-circle mission. It was never about hiding. It was about building something meaningful for the couples we most want to serve. On the substance: our Crimson Quarter response details the full scope of what we delivered — Muriel's, Balcony Music Club, Gold Mine Saloon, Morning Call, Boucherie, photography, room blocks, transportation, DJ, brass band, tastings, decor, and a day-of coordination binder thorough enough that Margaret Place executed your wedding beautifully with it. That binder included a minute-by-minute master timeline from 8:15 AM through 11:00 PM, a two-planner deployment model, full vendor directory, ceremony and reception floor plans, HMU rotation schedule, bridal party cheat sheet, marriage license logistics, and a 90-minute wedding morning control plan. We're glad they got the credit. The foundation was ours. On the permitting: City of New Orleans Permit No. 26-00530-SPMA — $100.25. Exactly what we quoted. Police escort pricing is separate, government-controlled, and increased following a citywide policy change after the Bourbon Street attack. The brass band was chosen from the premium end of options we offered. Route design, permitting, and escort coordination are services we provide as a courtesy at no charge. That courtesy was met with withheld payment. Reverie & Riot exists for couples who trust their planners, who embrace the unpredictable magic of New Orleans, and who don't need to control every variable to feel secure. We wish you both a wonderful life together — built on a foundation we helped create.

Unmatched value, exceptional team
We initially tried planning our wedding from out of state and quickly realized how challenging it can be to get real momentum without the right local support. Vendors were slow to respond, communication felt inconsistent, and even getting the planning process started became incredibly frustrating. What we thought would be manageable on our own soon felt overwhelming. Bringing Reverie & Riot on board changed everything. The value alone sets them apart — every detail felt intentional, elevated, and worth far more than what we invested. Brandon and Adam are an exceptional team whose professionalism and clarity immediately put us at ease. Their communication is prompt, their guidance is strategic, and their creativity is unmatched. They took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and then executed it flawlessly, turning what had been a stressful experience into an exciting one. You can tell they are deeply passionate about their work and committed to creating celebrations that feel authentic rather than formulaic. If you are looking for a team that will advocate for your vision, keep the process organized, and deliver remarkable results, Reverie & Riot is it. Outstanding people, outstanding service, and truly great value. Highly recommend.

GREAT PRICE!!
We were late to hiring a wedding planner until about two months out, when I realized I needed some help. Crimson Quarter weddings and events were the first to get back to me quickly , and set up a phone call, where I realized they were gonna be the ones for me. Not only were they extremely communicative, but they took everything that I had for them and and helped us to add a little bit "ourselves" Into the venue space. I gave them our florals and decorations and set them loose to do what they wanted and they knocked it out of the park. I am so thankful for Crimson Quarter, they helped us navigate rallying all of our vendors and communicating our needs, as well as setting up for us on the day of, coordinating different parts of our reception, and cleaning up after it was over. We couldn't have done it without them and I would hire them again for any event in the future if we happen to find ourselves back in New Orleans for anything special
