  • The Best Wedding Decision We Made!

    Working with Jessica from Not Jess A Planner was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We met over a year before our date, and she was there with us every step of the way. From our very first meeting, she immediately understood our vision and brought it to life through mood boards and thoughtful options that made every decision feel easier to manage and exciting along the way. One of the things I appreciated most about Jessica was her ability to balance our dream of a luxurious wedding with the reality of not having an unlimited budget. She was always honest about when it was worth investing for quality, and equally honest when we could save or DIY without sacrificing the guest experience. We never once felt pressured, only supported and guided with honesty and so much care. Our venue was a complete blank slate, in terms of finding vendors to support our big day. Jessica not only transformed it into something even more breathtaking, but also accommodated 150 people in a way that had never been done before. I truly don't think that our vision could have come to life as perfectly with a different planner. Even more impressively, she managed all of this from Los Angeles, while our wedding was in Paso Robles, only needing to visit the venue once beforehand. On our wedding day, Jess was everything I needed and more. She was calm, supportive, encouraging, and the ultimate hype woman. And the team she brought with her was just as incredible. Each of them were professional, knowledgeable, and seamless in making sure everything ran perfectly. Because of them, our day was flawless. There is not a single thing we would change, and I know that’s because Jessica thought of absolutely everything and was constantly advocated on our behalf. I truly cannot recommend Not Jess A Planner enough. If you’re lucky enough to work with Jess, do it before her calendar is impossible to get on—she is worth every bit of the investment and more. Our wedding was perfect in every way because of her!

    This review is long overdue, but I’ve always believed in the notion of better late than never. I hired Jess to be the month-of coordinator for my late May 2025 wedding at the Greystone Mansion & Gardens in Beverly Hills. To say that she went above and beyond would be a gross understatement. Jess was EXEMPLARY. As someone born in the 90s, I was astonished at her high degree of professionalism, which was a refreshing change from what I have come to expect from service providers who are similar in age to me. Although I “planned” the wedding in the sense that I researched, selected and contracted with the venue and all our vendors, it was Jess who transformed my collection of various event-related contracts into an actual wedding. Below, I’ve listed just a few of the really important things she did to help make my dream become a reality. TLDR version: I cannot recommend Jess highly enough. If you’re thinking about hiring her to plan/coordinate your event, stop thinking about it and JUST DO IT. It will be the best decision you make throughout the process. - Jess provided several video consultations which were VERY helpful because she helped fill a lot of knowledge gaps for me. Additionally, about two months before the wedding, she accompanied my bride and I on venue walkthroughs with venue staff, which was also very helpful because she knew exactly which questions to ask (stuff that I never would’ve contemplated, like liability insurance or acceptable floor/ground coverings). - Jess was in regular communication with me, checking in to ensure that I had contracted with the necessary vendors and reminding me of payment deadlines and other contract obligations to ensure that nothing fell though the cracks on my end. - Jess planned our ceremony and processional and her plan gave our wedding ceremony an emotional depth that filled the void of sentimentality that would’ve otherwise existed due to our lack a wedding party. - Jess also communicated and coordinated with all the vendors to ensure that everyone knew exactly when and where they needed to be at all times. This really helped everything come together very seamlessly on the actual wedding day. - My wife was unfortunately over an hour late to our wedding (no one’s fault, these things just happen). However, Jess did a masterful job of managing that unexpected situation in a way that ensured that neither myself nor my bride felt hurried or worried. Looking back, she put out several small fires that I was completely unaware of because she was so quick on her feet and did her job so well. - Jess helped direct our post-ceremony photography with multiple great ideas for shots that took full advantage of the uniquely beautiful location of our ceremony. - My wife and I were content to just have a still photographer, but Jess had a really talented videographer contact who wanted to shoot at our venue and offered us a fantastic deal for his services to shoot our wedding video. - Our wedding was quite small so, rather than a formal reception, we rented a private room at a restaurant near our wedding venue where we had a plated dinner with dancing (we hired a DJ) and a photo booth. Jess connected us with a vendor who helped transform the private room (which was nice and clean but nothing extraordinary) into a beautiful, elegant, and intimate dining room, with enough space for us to dance and enjoy ourselves (think Downton Abbey, but with modern sand candles).

    Jess from Not Jess A Planner is a top tier wedding planner! From the start of the planning journey, she was quick to respond, organized, thoughtful and most important FRIENDLY! Finding a hands on, easy to work with planner in the SoCal area is no small feat so finding Jess felt like a God-send. She seamlessly guided myself and my husband through every choice (big and small, easy and hard) and always felt like a true teammate trying to keep us happy and on budget. Day of Coordination was handled seamlessly by Ashlynn with Kendra as her assistant. The pair worked together with my wedding venue coordinators at the Parker Palm Springs flawlessly. I was able to focus on my day and relax knowing everything was being taken care of. Their expertise, attention to detail and TLC doesn't go unnoticed by other vendors and guests.     Amazing Coordinator! We had our wedding last December 10, 2022. Worked with Jessica for our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the service we received. From the very beginning, Jess was incredibly organized and professional. She listened to our vision for the wedding and helped turn it into a reality. She was always available to answer any questions we had and provided valuable suggestions throughout the planning process. It was stressful already with the venue on how strict the place and management was but she was able to do it for us. On the day of the wedding, Jess and her team executed everything perfectly and made sure that everything ran smoothly. Thanks to her hard work, our wedding day was stress-free and truly magical. I highly recommend Not Jess A Planner to anyone planning a wedding.
