Founded by luxury planner Taryn Stark Wyant, we bring years of destination wedding expertise to every celebration. Our approach blends editorial design with seamless logistics, ensuring the planning process feels calm, personal, and beautifully intentional from start to finish.

Asked to Move Our Ceremony 48 Hours Before
We hired Harlow & Oak for full-service planning, but our experience culminated in an incredibly stressful final 48 hours before our wedding. Our ceremony was planned at my late father’s family home, which was the most meaningful part of our wedding. Harlow & Oak visited the property twice, took videos and measurements, and four days before the wedding confirmed in writing that our living room would serve as the rain plan if needed. Then, just two days before the wedding, we were told the indoor plan was no longer acceptable for our approximately 80 guests. We were told it would pose a problem for the vendors but because they required us to contract with the vendors through them, we were prevented from contacting the vendors directly to work out any issues. (We later determined that they misrepresented the vendors’ positions and, despite H&O claiming that the vendors were unwilling to work with our rain venue, they actually were quite accommodating in person.) We were presented with alternatives including moving the ceremony to our reception venue, moving it to a church, or limiting the ceremony at our family home to 47 people. Being told 48 hours before my wedding that I might have to decide which of my loved ones would be allowed to witness the ceremony was infuriating. Because this was presented as a safety concern, we spent the final days before our wedding contacting the county fire marshal, consulting an attorney friend, and negotiating contingency plans instead of spending that time with family and friends who had traveled internationally to celebrate with us. My friends had to develop, design, and execute an indoor contingency plan 36 hours before the wedding because Harlow & Oak refused to participate if the ceremony needed to be moved indoors. The weather ultimately cooperated, and our outdoor ceremony proceeded as planned, although Harlow & Oak seated my severely disabled, wheelchair-bound mother directly behind a post blocking her view! The emotional toll of those final 48 hours is something I will never forget. We hired a full-service planner so we wouldn’t have to manage a crisis like this ourselves. Instead, an attorney friend became our negotiator, our primary point of contact and contingency coordinator, and we spent the final days before the wedding revising logistics that we believed had already been settled. Looking back, there were warning signs throughout the planning process: We paid for full-service planning, but there was very little proactive budgeting or planning guidance during the first several months. - We repeatedly had to ask for budgets and timelines and eventually tracked much of the planning ourselves. - Key vendors were secured surprisingly late (our photographer about six weeks before the wedding, our DJ about seven weeks before, and our dessert vendor only 17 days before). - When we asked about more affordable vendor options, we were generally given explanations for the recommended vendors rather than alternative recommendations. - I ended up building our wedding website myself, despite that being a service other planners we interviewed included. Our wedding itself was beautiful because our friends and family stepped in whenever they were needed. I truly wish our experience with full-service planning had reflected the same level of preparation and support.

To Whom It May Concern: We recognize that an unexpected thunderstorm contingency in the final days before a wedding particularly for a ceremony at a meaningful private family residence can be incredibly challenging. We respect that Jodie experienced those circumstances as stressful; however, for the sake of accuracy, we feel it is important to provide additional context. Harlow & Oak was retained approximately five months before the wedding for a full-service planning process that typically begins 12–18 months in advance. During that accelerated timeframe, our team developed the event design, sourced and secured the vendor team, managed event expenses and budget considerations, and planned and produced the event through completion. When the weather forecast changed immediately before the wedding, our responsibility was to reassess the proposed indoor contingency based on the confirmed guest count, limitations of the private residence, and requirements of the contracted vendors. We presented multiple contingency options while continuing to work toward preserving the outdoor ceremony at the family home. Ultimately, the weather permitted the ceremony to proceed outdoors as planned, and Harlow & Oak remained onsite through completion of the wedding, managing and executing the event alongside the vendor team. We stand confidently behind the professionalism, care, and diligence with which our team planned and executed this wedding. Best Planners EVER!!
If you’re looking for wedding planners who will bring your dream wedding to life and then some, look no further than Taryn and Dani! They planned our September wedding with a stunning Tuscany-inspired theme, and the result was absolutely magical. Every detail, from the décor to the timeline, was seamless and thoughtful. The venue looked like it was plucked straight from the Italian countryside, with romantic touches that took our breath away. The food was absolutely divine—our guests couldn’t stop raving about it! And the dance floor? It was packed all night long. Taryn and Dani curated an atmosphere where everyone felt energized and excited, and we didn’t want the night to end. Best Wedding Weekend
I've never been one of those gals who dreamt about my perfect wedding, and the idea of planning a wedding was totally daunting. Taryn and Dani helped us dream and build out a wedding [weekend] that was indeed perfect. We had a lot of unique and particular wishes and they made it all happen- and even with a little added magic! During the planning process, they worked around our crazy schedules, supported us when tough situations arose and planned all of our auxiliary events- in other words they're way more than just your regular wedding planners! We would not be able to have done it without them. 3
