Hi, I’m Ginna, a Louisville, Kentucky wedding planner and mom of two who believes planning should feel calm, organized, and truly enjoyable. Since founding my company in 2018, I have guided nearly 200 couples through thoughtful, well executed celebrations. I blend laid back energy with meticulous logistics, managing budgets, vendors, timelines, and wedding weekends so you can stay present. My goal is simple: protect your experience and create a seamless, meaningful day from start to finish.

With a keen eye for detail and a people-pleasing personality, we celebrate our couples while honoring their wishes. We hope to become an extension of your family without you having the guilt that you would with your actual family. No need to ask your aunt to help you change your shoes, we will gladly do that while making jokes in the process.

    Wedding Coordinator Review

    It's hard to put into words how much Ginna Matson Events helped my wife and I in preparing for our big day, but I will try! When friends have gotten engaged after us, we've always been asked for advice in planning and the first thing that immediately comes to mind for us is hire a wedding coordinator! It's one thing to pick out all of the details and things you want on your big day, but it's another thing entirely for it to all come together efficiently and smoothly. Working with Ginna gave us the latter and then some! She met with us multiple times to confirm details as we got closer to the big day, and was willing to hop on a quick call if needed. I think it's really important to be able to focus on your person and what you're celebrating on your big day instead of whether or not a vendor has shown up, brought what you paid for, etc. That peace of mind is priceless, and with Ginna and her team we didn't have to worry about a thing. We felt so taken care of from moment one and we would recommend Ginna Matson Events to anyone!

    The best!

    Ginna was amazing. She communicated with us well, gave us so many tips and advice, was always so patient, down to earth, and made our big day perfect. She worked hard decorating everything, and helped with the take down when no one else would. She also helped bustle my dress that took 3 people and 40 minutes of sweat later.     Ginna did above and BEYOND what our expectations were of a wedding planner!! She made sure the bride was happy throughout the whole process of wedding planning and not just the day of!! She is full of amazing ideas and cost efficient ones as well, and is in touch with the latest trends! She is amazing!!!

Wedding planning in Louisville varies depending on guest count, venue logistics, and level of support needed. Full-service wedding planning is typically between $5000-$6500. Wedding Management is usually $3850 and Coordination is usually $3050.  After a consultation, I provide a custom proposal based on your wedding size, priorities, and planning timeline.
If you value your time, want vendor guidance, or are planning a larger guest count wedding, a planner can protect both your budget and your experience. Louisville venues, especially historic estates and downtown spaces, have unique logistics. Having a local wedding planner who understands vendor relationships and venue flow can prevent costly mistakes and last-minute stress.
Full-service wedding planning includes everything that wedding management does plus: Budget development and tracking Vendor recommendations, research, communication, booking Design guidance Additional Venue walkthroughs Attendance at all vendor meetings Additional assistant to the one included. Total support on all things wedding. Wedding management is for couples who want to book their own vendors but want professional oversight, "someone to hold their hand" leading up to the wedding.
Ideally, couples book a wedding planner shortly after securing their venue. This ensures you receive guidance on vendor contracts, budget allocation, and timeline decisions from the very beginning. For Louisville weddings with high-demand venues and vendors, booking 9–15 months in advance is common.
While I’m based in Louisville, Kentucky, I plan weddings throughout the state of Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio. I have travelled for weddings in New York and am open to more opportunities, especially destination options.  Many of my couples choose venues in Louisville, Oldham County, Shelby County, and Lexington.

Absolutely. Wedding weekends often include welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, and post-wedding brunches. I can coordinate logistics across multiple locations to ensure your entire weekend feels seamless.
I approach wedding planning with equal parts structure and calm. My job is to think five steps ahead, protect your investment, and lead your vendor team with confidence — so you can actually enjoy your wedding day. Plus I love to make you laugh so we don't take ourselves too seriously. It's supposed to be fun and the best day, not stressful!
Absolutely! Ginna proudly works with all couples and is a proud member of Inclusive Kentucky Weddings. 
I hired a Coordinator for my wedding in 2017 before I launched myself fully into Wedding Planning in 2018.
Most of the budgets I work with are North of $50,000 with most in 2025 falling between $60,000-$85,000. Of course this depends on expectations as well as guest count and required vendors. Typically the price per person over all comes to about $400+ pp.
We are fully licensed and insured. 
​We are often the first to arrive and always the last to leave on the day of your wedding. We handle everything so your family doesn't have to.​
​Since 2018, my team has planned over 200 weddings. We do about 20 a year these days but have done as many as 65 in 2021 due to reschedules. What a year! We do FAR less than that now.  
I don't specifically brand that I do DOC as I don't just show up and take over your binder. My service day of is still the same as my Wedding Management and Full Planning couples. I usually say that the difference between me and a true "Day of" is that I still will do 3 check points leading up and give you vendor recommendations. I will always insure your day goes smoothly and do the adequate amount of communication beforehand even if we have gone over our 3 calls. I still create timeline and layout and confirm vendors , do a final walkthrough but you are doing the majority of vendor communication leading up to the event until I take over!
