i am julie, owner and principle photographer for sound & sea photography + films! we provide portrait and award winning wedding photography and videography services, specializing in documentary style candid’s and joyful portraiture. sound & sea photography are wedding photography experts. from our initial consultation to the final delivery of your images, i will personally be there to guide you and answer any questions you may have - and more importantly - have a whole lot of fun along the way!

we focus on fun & making your experience enjoyable, while concurrently delivering amazing photos. julie is a full time wedding photographer offering support from booking to wedding day w/ exemplary customer service - including photo planning & unlimited calls. grandma's always tell julie she is best photographer they have ever seen due to her wicked efficient way of shooting family photos, so we can all get back to the fun. julie has a small associate team for those who are more budget conscious or still want the sound & sea experience when julie is booked. we have over 300 weddings under our belt so you can put your mind as ease! xo

    Wedding photographer review

    I would reccomend Julie (sound & sea photography). We decided to get a wedding photographer last moment. She got to us real quick and was accommodating even with the close wedding day. She had tons of experience and helped us plan out our wedding shoots. We loved the photos she took and she also did some minor edits on some photos that we wanted change for free. I would reccomend her.

    Not all Heros wear Capes!

    If you're looking for a stress-free wedding day where you can actually be present and enjoy every moment - Julie is your person! As a self-proclaimed anxious, easily overwhelmed bride, I cannot recommend her enough. From the moment we started working together, I could tell she brings a wealth of experience to every wedding and knows exactly what she's doing. I trusted her judgment completely and gave her full creative control to direct us throughout the day. Best decision I made! She took that responsibility and ran with it beautifully. Whether you're a Type A bride who wants every detail planned out, or more like me - a little unsure, a little scattered, just wanting to soak in the day, but still expecting beautiful photos you'll actually want to hang on your wall, Julie will absolutely be your savior.     Fun on the Ferry!

    Sound & Sea Photography Films was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding day. From the very first interaction, her communication was clear, timely, and incredibly helpful as we planned all the details. On the day of, Julie was fantastic in keeping things moving smoothly and even made a spontaneous recommendation to visit a local ice cream shop that ended up being a highlight for us. We are truly obsessed with the photos she took throughout the day. They captured all the special moments of our day perfectly. Neither of us are particularly skilled at being on camera, but Julie's directions were so effective, and we never felt uncomfortable. fantastic! simply contact me to confirm my availability and initiate the conversation! to then reserve your wedding date, i will send over a proposal for the wedding package you have chosen. a signed contract and a non-refundable retainer of $1000 for completes the booking for full day weddings!
i can and i do! while i am a stealthy hustler on your day and have shot large weddings alone, i do recommend you consider adding-on a second photographer for at least half your day for weddings over 125 people. i can only be in one place at one time, so a second photographer ensures you have all of your angles covered for those once in a lifetime moments
absolutely! i am licensed with the state of washington and a member of ppa - the professional photographers of america. i carry both data insurance and limited liability.
galleries typically include anywhere between 400 and 700 photos for a full wedding day. the exact amount varies from wedding to wedding, but i average about 75 photos per hour of shoot time. your online gallery will come loaded with fully edited high resolution images you can print anywhere, or prints can be purchased via your gallery from my professional lab.
i typically add travel fees on to any wedding that has a travel time of more than 3 hours roundtrip from home in seattle, wa. fees vary depending on location so ask me for more details.
yes! i have traveled to oregon and as far as michigan to capture weddings. while i often shoot locally on weekends in summer, limiting my ability to travel outside of western washington, off season here in the pnw is high season somewhere else and travel can be arranged! i would simply create a flat travel fee depending on location and add that to your package.
