Hi! My name is Valerie! I am a hopeless romantic who wants to be behind the lens of your love story. I fell in love with photography in my high school darkroom. I went on to major in media and communication at University of Washington with a focus on visual arts. I have always been a story teller, a big feeler and obsessed with all things love, so photographing weddings is quite literally living my dream. I have photographed over 130 weddings and have the same passion for them as when I first started. I cannot see myself doing anything else.

I am fully prepared to help you plan your timeline, refer reliable vendors and answer any questions you may have. I am a pro at preparing you for your big day and at calming your nerves when it arrives. You can count on me to get on the floor and bustle your dress and to fix your make up if you shed a few tears. I will show up not just as a professional but as a friend. I will laugh with you and I certainly cry with you all while striving to give you the most incredible images possible. I have truly found my bliss capturing love stories and I cannot wait to tell yours!

    I cannot say enough wonderful things about Valorie. From the moment you’re at your photo shoot she is like your best friend. She makes you so comfortable and relaxed which made the experience really fun. She was great with communicating and keeping in touch over the year between our engagement photos and wedding. The photos turned out absolutely beautiful! Don’t hesitate and book her!

    Our Forever Photographer

    Working with Valerie from PNW Love Stories was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding (09/2025 at Pemberton Farm in Snohomish, WA). She was incredible from start to finish: professional, organized, and so intuitive that she needed absolutely no guidance to capture every moment and all the shots I had hoped for (and many I didn’t even know I wanted). We loved our engagement shoot with her, so we already knew we were in good hands, but she somehow still exceeded our expectations on the wedding day. She blended right in, made everyone feel comfortable, and brought such a warm, fun energy to the entire experience. We received our photos within a month, and they are incredible.     Great Photos on Short Notice

    Valerie was actually our second photographer after our first option wasn't going to work out. She joined us on short notice, maybe a month or two before the wedding. The photos she took that day were absolutely amazing, and we're so glad that she was able to memorialize such a special day. Not only did Valerie take great photos, but her communication with us was excellent from our first Zoom call all the way through the delivery of our photos. We can't recommend her enough to anyone looking for a photographer.

My style is crisp, clean and colorful. I believe wedding photography should be timeless and classic so I am described as "true to life". I love documentary photography so I capture a lot of candid moments. My shooting style is fun and lighthearted but still assertive enough to get all your relatives looking my way so I can get the job done. I am easy going with a great sense of humor so people warm up to me quickly and it makes portraits with me more fun. I come prepared with prompts to help you connect with each other as well as a posing work flow.
I always think it is a great idea to have an engagement session so we can get to know each other better. I love using that time to connect with my couples. I will get a sense of your style and preferences so on your wedding day we are already in synch with one another. Another perk is that you will have images ready for save the dates, wedding invitations and to display at your wedding.
It depends on the number of hours I am there and if you have opted for a second shooter or not. You can count on me for a minimum of 60 images an hour. If I work with a second shooter a gallery is typically 500-750 images. Turn around is generally 4-6 weeks with a sneak peak ready within a week.
Keeping your images safe is a huge priority for me. I shoot with two cameras and each camera has two memory card slots. Your images are recorded onto both cards. When I get home, I upload the images to an external hard drive and then onto the cloud for safe keeping. I do not delete the memory cards until the wedding gallery has been delivered.
There are many benefits to having a second shooter. I cannot be in two places at once and there is so much to cover on a wedding day. For getting ready shots, I stay with the bride and my second shooter will hang with the guys so you both can be documented equally. If you do a first look, I can shoot the whole scene and my second can zoom in on reactions. You get a second perspective on all your big moments. A second shooter will call off the family shot list so I can focus on shooting. You have more full coverage when you are working with a team.
