Hi! I’m Rachel, and my husband Daniel and I are a husband-and-wife photography team based in the Shenandoah Valley. We blend traditional, candid, and documentary styles to capture your day as it truly happens. Our editing is clean, rich, and true-to-life, with crisp whites and natural colors that never go out of style. We’ve been through the wedding whirlwind ourselves, so we’re here to make the photography part feel easy, fun, and stress-free.
Our investment in your wedding goes far beyond photos, it’s personal. We’re here to build a real relationship, cheer you on during planning, and support you however we can on your big day. Will forever recommend
There are not enough words in the English language to talk about how much I appreciated working with Rachel and Daniel. From the get go, the communication with them was quick and easy. Brides will know how difficult it is to find a good vendor, Rachel made it feel so smooth. Their information packet was so good and detailed! We did our engagement shoot with them as well, and just had an absolute blast. It felt like a group of friends hanging out having a good time. Because of that vibe, our photos came out with so much joy and happiness. Rachel also went above and beyond. I had a last minute vendor drop out, and she spent her time to help me find a new one. It wasn’t her responsibility, but she was so kind to help me with that. Working with Rachel is pretty much confirming you’ll have an excellent photography experience. The photos are just so stunning, but the team behind them are even better. Our wedding was literally yesterday and I’m already writing this review because of how much I loved working with them!

Rachel Dodson Photography - The best!!
Rachel Dodson and her husband, Daniel, made our wedding even more special than we could ever imagine! Having Rachel and Daniel as our photographers, not only allowed us to have peace about all of our dream pictures being taken, but they also helped us take in the day more, by really focusing on the sweet details and moments that taking pictures bring! They both kept us on schedule and we each genuinely smiled, because we trusted our photographers so much, they were so fun to spend the day with!

The photographer you want to book for your wedding
I can't begin to explain how amazing my experience was with Rachel and Daniel. We chose them to be the photographers for our wedding / engagement photos. First off, all the photos are absolutely amazing. What makes them different is how much passion Rachel has about her work. She is so excited to create and has so many ideas for great and unique photos. She is also so bubbly, carefree, and ready to create whatever your vision is-or make one if you aren't sure. They always made us feel so comfortable, help make you laugh when you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed, and get everyone enjoying the photo process (which can be hard to do!). She also had previews ready by the END of the wedding- we all got to see the most beautiful photos before the event was even over! If you are ever unsure of who you should book for your photos-the answer is Rachel Dodson photography.

My husband and I got married last weekend and were absolutely thrilled with the care, attention-to-detail, and positive energy Rachel and Daniel brought to the space as our wedding photographers. After a negative experience with a different photographer for our engagement photos, Rachel and Daniel were a much needed “breath of fresh air”. They made sure to prioritize my husband and I’s happiness and do everything they could to make us feel beautiful and celebrated on our wedding day. Every interaction we had with them, both during planning and on the wedding day itself, was amazing. The photos we have received our stunning an highlight the natural beauty in our most precious moments. Hiring anyone else is a mistake
We found Rachel and Daniel on accident and it was the best decision ever to hire them for our wedding. From our engagement photos to our wedding photos, everything was beyond what we could ever imagine. They get it. There’s no extra fluff, no hidden agenda, just pure joy and great honor to take photos of peoples best day. They see the genuine moments and capture them with ease. We set up a phone call for the week before the wedding to ensure we were on the same page so she could execute our vision. On top of that, we had sneak peaks within 24 hours and our entire wedding album in 1 month. That’s unheard of!! I will truly never hire another photographer in my life.
