What started as a spontaneous purchase in 2019—a $50 camera from eBay—turned into a dream I now get to live every day. Not long after picking up that camera, I won an award, showed work in galleries, and was published. With years of encouragement from others, I eventually made the leap to full-time photography—and I’ve never looked back. Weddings are where everything I love about photography comes together. I get to witness and capture the best moments from every angle—those quick glances, bursts of laughter, and quiet emotions that pass in a heartbeat.

I’m often told by DJs and venue staff that I’m the hardest-working person in the room. Every photo I deliver carries my name, and that means something to me. I take pride in going the extra mile, not just for the perfect image, but to make sure everyone actually enjoys the process. Weddings can be hectic, but they should also be fun—so yes, I’ll do everything I can to put you at ease (even if it means unleashing an endless supply of dad jokes).     We had Mike from Photos By Michael U. photograph , and we couldn't have been happier with his work. He met us at a beautiful spot in the Metro parks and really took his time to get the perfect shots—we never felt rushed once. Mike has a great personality and was genuinely fun to have around on our special day. He used the natural scenery, trees, and benches to make our photos look stunning. Picking our favorites was actually hard because every single image turned out so good. We'd recommend Mike to any couple looking for a photographer who cares about his craft and his clients.

    Excellent photographer

    I'm so happy we hired Mike to photograph my daughter’s wedding. He captured every moment with warmth and attention to detail. Mike has also photographed other milestones for our family, including my children's graduation photos and my nephew's wedding. His work is consistently beautiful. He made the entire experience effortless with his professionalism, kindness, and creativity. He somehow was able to capture all of my daughter's most special moments with us barely noticing he was nearby. We will treasure these photos forever and recommend him wholeheartedly.

    Mike is fantastic! He truly has such a natural talent and it's clear that he's trained that talent over the years. He's such a joy to work with as well. Typically, couples book me about 12 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, but I am flexible, so don't be shy.
Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending on the size of your wedding.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible, but I do know videographers that I have worked with and can add them if wanted, per their cost.
If somehow every photo is a winner then yes, but that has never happened. I will cull which ones I feel are the best which are pretty much any that do not have a mistake by me or someone with their eyes closed etc. The ones I choose will be edited with a uniform style so they are seamless. I remove minor blemishes and will do some teeth whitening up until a point. I want them to be natural looking, however we can always do what you would like within reason until I may have to charge a little extra.
