Hello, my name is Nikki, and I am a wedding and family photographer for the sentimental and nostalgic. I have been lucky enough to call this my career for over 12 years. I am driven by a passion for storytelling and documenting your life for you to keep forever. Rooted in the heart of Chicago, IL, I am always ready to pack my bags and travel wherever your story unfolds (frequently travel to CO and WI). Whether it's the heartfelt promises exchanged on your wedding day or the joyful pitter-patter of little feet during an intimate family session at home, I treasure the opportunity to document every chapter of your life.

My photographic style is timeless, warm, candid, nostalgic, and real. I love photographing in a way that tells a story of who you are and who you love. I value the in-between moments that seem small but are so special, capturing the genuine, unscripted emotions that define your relationships.     Nikki Kate and team are the absolute best!!

    From our first conversation, Nikki at Nikki Kate Photography made us feel at ease with her friendly approach and helpful guidance. She knew exactly where to position us for the best shots and gave us confident direction throughout the day, which made a huge difference in how natural our photos turned out. Her work on both our engagement and wedding photos was outstanding—she captured every moment with such professionalism and care. What really stood out was how she made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, even during what could be awkward posed shots.     Chicago's BEST Photographer

    I've been a fan of Nikki Kate for so long, and finally getting to work with her on Maddie Pat's wedding was such a dream. She was warm, professional, and incredibly easy to collaborate with from our first emails through the end of the night. With a two-day weekend, a full timeline, and a big bridal party she stayed calm through it all. The previews she shared were stunning, and I can't wait for the full gallery. As a planner, I couldn't ask for a better partner on the day. I'd recommend Nikki to any couple in a heartbeat and will be requesting her again!

    Natural and Effortless

    Nikki captured all the details of our wedding day, big and small, so perfectly.  We just received our full gallery and it felt like reliving our special day in real time! She took the time to take photos of all the decor, desserts, florals etc which was so appreciated as being swept up in the day, we barely glanced at all the details we spent so much time deciding ahead of the wedding! We also loved seeing the moments of each other before the first look- like getting ready, opening each other’s gifts. The photos look and feel like us, no heavy editing and capture the day exactly how it was! These photos will be a treasured memory and we will share them for years to come!

    Nikki is absolutely amazing and we are so happy we chose her to be our wedding photographer. She is wonderful to work with! She is kind, organized, and truly goes above and beyond! I am rooted in Chicago, IL and frequently travel all over the midwest for my couples and families. I am always happy to pack my bags and hop on a plane to wherever your story takes you. Travel is such a big part of my life and I am lucky enough to say that is a big part of my job. My couples have taken me all over the world including California, Colorado, Rhode Island, Florida, and even Ireland. If you are planning a destination family session or wedding, be sure to include that in your contact form and I will be happy to walk you through pricing.
For sessions, you can expect to receive your full gallery in about 3 weeks. For weddings, you will receive a handful of previews in your inbox within 24-48 hours after your wedding day. You can expect your full gallery with ALL of your photos within 10-12 weeks
If I'm already booked, I have an incredible team of associate photographers who have been handpicked and trained in my style. They will photograph your wedding, and I will handle the editing and planning with you.
Through an online gallery where all of your photos are downloaded as high resolution images. You are able to download these photos to your phone and computer, send the link to family and friends, and order prints!
I am a firm believer in printing your photos to have a tangible way to hold your memories and pass them down. I do offer wedding and family albums. The process starts with you selecting your favorite photos through your online gallery and I will design your album. Their is also a built in print shop in the gallery your photos are delivered through. You also do have full rights to print elsewhere. Another special way to print your photos is by shopping at the Heirloom Frame Shop (nikkikate.com/shop).
