“There is one thing the photography must contain, the humanity of the moment. This kind of photography is realism. But realism is not enough – there has to be vision, and the two together can make a good photograph.” – Robert Frank

    Amazing photos, rain or shine!

Words cannot describe how grateful we are that Nick Benson was our wedding photographer. I had been following his photos for a few years and could not wait for the day that you would be our wedding photographer. From the very beginning we knew we had made the right decision, so much so that we had referred him to my sister before he even did our photos! Our engagement shoot was perfect, he worked with us to make us comfortable in front of the camera and was able to capture the best photos despite difficult weather, wind and people passing by. Our wedding day was no different. He was not even phased by the rain and still managed to capture some amazing photos! Nick has a keen eye captures moments that convey the emotion that was felt as it was happening. He is calm, resourceful and incredibly professional. His passion for photography as well as his connection to his clients makes him an amazing photographer. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

I cannot fawn over our photos enough!

I am so happy we hired them to capture the most magical day of our lives. Nick and his team were beyond comparable to anyone else. They captured everything we wanted, without being overbearing. They kept their distance when needed, they took control when needed, they had a great schedule set yet it didn't feel rigid. It was so fun and comfortable hanging with them all day. I cannot say enough good things about them. They also had a cool, new and modern photo booth that we added that everyone loved. Nick went above and beyond throughout this entire process and the amount of work and effort he puts in to this is worth every penny. Do not look anywhere else, you found your photographer in Nick.

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 6-8 weeks after your wedding. When your photos are finished, you can also expect to receive a USB drive with high-resolution image files and a shared copyright granting you permission to use the photos for personal use, so you can share the photos with your loved ones.
Your date will be locked in with us once we have received your signed contract and deposit.
Sure is!
No. In order to maintain our high standard of work, and your total satisfaction, we limit ourselves to one wedding per weekend. After each wedding, it takes approximately 40-60 hours to edit the wedding from start to finish – not including designing your album. The more weddings we take on per weekend, the longer it would take for us to get your edited images back to you. We are also human and can only handle being pulled in so many directions. Plus, if we worked a wedding the night before yours - you would have some very, very tired photographers showing up at your wedding and you would be getting the short end of the stick.
That is completely dependent on which package you book, and if you would like to add another photographer on to your package if your coverage only comes with one photographer.
You can expect about 50 to 100 images per hour of photographing. Typically for 8 hours of coverage, you can expect around 700-800 photos will be delivered. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your length of coverage, number of guests, venue type, and of course - how lively you and your guests are on the dance floor!
With a large photography studio that sends out several photographers to multiple events on the same day, there is a certain level of personal touch that can be easily missed. It’s very important to us to build a relationship with our couples and that we are able to dedicate our time to everyone we work with. We don’t have a set number of weddings we photograph each year, but we do limit the number of weddings we take on each month as our schedule for the year develops, so that we can keep up with everything in a timely manner.
Anytime there is a possibility of rain in the forecast, we will arrive prepared with plenty of ideas, umbrellas, and lights. As long as you give us your trust, and won’t melt in the rain like the Wicked Witch of the West; we promise to do everything in our power to create some incredibly unique images for you. You may just end up being thankful that it rained!
Although your wedding photographer is an important part of your day, it is also important to us that we are not viewed as the center of attention. The last thing we would want to do is distract anyone from you, especially as we trying to blend in as a fly on the wall to capture candid shots. Our typical wedding attire is a button up shirt or professionally monogramed black polo with black suit pants or khakis.
We have found engagement sessions to be a very important icebreaker. Not only does it put a camera-shy couple at ease before their wedding, but it also allows us to find out ahead of time if there is a certain side or angle that you prefer or photograph best from, or what poses work best, etc. What we have found to be especially useful is the feedback we hear when we initially show couples all their edited photos in person after their session. That way we know what to keep an eye out for, or what to avoid on your wedding day. Most importantly, we get to have some fun together and make some awesome images!
Yes, we do. We feel strongly that family photos are very important. We recommend taking family portraits either immediately after your ceremony, or shortly beforehand – if you choose to do a first look.
Some vendors include meals in with their contract, but we are providing a service for you and do not feel that you should be obliged to feed us as well. However, we are extremely thankful when we are fed dinner! Just let us know what to expect ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
Yes! We will provide you with a helpful worksheet that will make this process easy for you. We will guide you through every step of the process and we are always here to help you if you find that you’re having a hard time choosing between images.
Anytime a USB drive is purchased or comes included with a purchased package, we provide you with something called a ‘shared copyright.’ This means that we grant you the right to unlimited personal use of the photos so you can print them wherever you want and can post them wherever you would like on the Internet. We also offer (and recommend) prints from our professional print lab, if you want photos that will stand the test of time.
As Murphy’s Law states; anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Everyone has experienced the latest technology failing in one way or another, and believe it or not… cameras have become more electronic than they are mechanical. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. We have made it a point to invest in plenty of back-up equipment (multiple cameras, lenses, flashes, etc.) so that you can have peace of mind that we are ready for whatever comes our way on your big day.
