About Molly Jo Photography

Molly Holmstrom-Bolster

Photographer

Hi there! My name’s Molly Holmstrom-Bolster, and I’m the Molly Jo of Molly Jo Photography. Photographer. Mom. Wife. Dog mom. Ordained minister. Yooper. I was born & raised in Calumet, MI (in the beautiful Upper Peninsula). I picked up a camera over four years ago to get some shots of my younger brothers racing cars & playing hockey, but realized very quickly that my passion was not sports photography - it was capturing love.

Speaking of love, I met my Yinzer (Pittsburgh native) husband (who many of you will meet as he’s often my amazing assistant on shoots & second shooter for weddings) on Plenty of Fish (the worst dating website of all time). He quickly convinced me to make the move to the Queen City, Marquette. I didn’t mind - as long as I didn’t have to leave my beloved UP. Together, we have 2 daughters & 4 dogs. By day, I work in healthcare - my other passion. I’m also a member of the Board of Directors for Connect Marquette, an organization focused on building connections, community, and leadership.

Molly was so wonderful to work with! She texted me and settled me several times. When I couldn’t decide what to put my boys in for engagement pictures she helped me thru it and I sent her several pictures! The day of the wedding she was flawless and helped and did so much more than a photographer should.
