M/K Studios LLC is a wedding and elopement photography business based in Houghton, Michigan. We specialize in documenting adventurous weddings and intimate elopements across Northern Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Alongside digital imagery, we offer film photography and Super 8mm video snippets for couples who love a nostalgic, storytelling feel. Our work is all about capturing the real and the raw. We want your photos and films to feel like you, honest, artful, and rooted in adventure.
I bring years of experience and an easygoing spirit to every wedding day. My approach to photography is rooted in real life, it’s how Kyle and I see the world. We focus on the in-between moments: the quiet smiles, the wind in your hair, the way your hands find each other without thinking. After five years of living and working in the area, we’ve come to know so many hidden gems, from peaceful forests to calm lakeshores, that make the perfect backdrop for your story.

the perfect choice for our wedding
M/K Studios LLC was the perfect choice for our wedding photography needs. From the start, their communication was fast, friendly, and they clearly demonstrated their expertise in the field. On our wedding day, they went above and beyond to ensure every need was met and that all the special moments were beautifully captured. The final photos, film, and Super 8 video were absolutely stunning - a perfect blend of down-to-earth, talented, candid, and photojournalistic. Despite being from out of town, they were very knowledgeable about the Traverse City area and even helped connect us with other vendors and accommodation options. Their services were also very well-priced, making them an incredible value. We couldn't be happier with the memories they helped create for our special day.
