Upbeat storytelling. Free-form and organic. Specializing in short form wedding films and classic full length documentary edits. I have a true journalistic shooting style which means I will never be directing you or posing shots. I want you to be as natural as possible around me and want those candid moments to reflect in your final edit. You will find my short form videos to be much more on the upbeat side than most without the extensive use of narration throughout the video.

I have been full-time in the wedding industry for over 20 years. I am always the primary shooter, editor + handle every single element of my business. I do not have employees or hire subcontractors, it is always me on your wedding day!     The Perfect Wedding Videographer Experience

    Nearing the second half of our engagement, my husband and I decided to book a videographer. The decision was easy once we came across Chad's beautiful work - and even more so after we started communicating with him. He was always prompt in his responses, thoughtful with his suggestions, and genuinely invested in making sure our vision came to life. On our wedding day, we were running behind schedule getting to the venue, but Chad was completely prepared and ready to go the moment we arrived. Throughout the day, he did a phenomenal job capturing our ceremony, first dances, speeches, and candid moments with our guests during cocktail hour and on the dance floor. What impressed us most was how seamlessly he blended into the celebration. He gave everyone the space to simply enjoy the day without ever feeling self-conscious in front of the camera. In fact, so many of our guests commented afterward, "You had a videographer? We didn't even notice!"     Love it!!!

    I cannot thank Chad enough! He and his wife were so personable and great to work with leading up to the event and day of. I knew from the start of being engaged that I wanted to have a video and he did not disappoint! The video is gorgeous, shows off so many amazing memories of the day, and is something I will treasure forever. I think within the 24 hours I've had the video, I've watched it 10-20 times, it's so beautiful. I'm so thankful that I chose to work with Chad, and would do it 10x over!

    Would highly recommend!

    Chad was extremely easy to work with and super responsive during the planning process! I wasn't looking for every single part of the day to be recorded, and he was super willing to accommodate to what I wanted. My husband talked to Chad a lot during our wedding and kept saying how kind he was! Would highly recommend!

    Fun Chill

    CHAD! We are so lucky to have had you as our videographer - fun and chill to be around, professional, and our teaser was delivered to us so quickly. We love that Chad's style is organic and natural and not of the "posing" nature - he truly captures moments without stopping what you're doing and that is what us two brides were looking for. Thank you, Chad for coming to our rescue when we needed you most, great communication, prompt responses, just overall gave us the attention and professionalism we were looking for.     Memories you will cherish for a lifetime!

    We used Chad Whelan for our wedding teaser video/full wedding video in April 2022. Chad was an absolute blast to work with. He made the process seamless from the time we booked him, all the way up through our wedding day. His laid back, yet professional way of going about his process makes him a wonderful wedding videographer. The quality of his work is absolutely outstanding and he truly captured every important detail of our special day. He is extremely flexible and an overall pleasure to work with. As a side note, I, the bride, lost my voice on my wedding day. This made for very interesting vows during our wedding ceremony where I basically had no voice at all. Chad offered his creative and skilled experience in the field and had me record a voice over following the wedding which he seamlessly edited into the film to make it appear that I actually had a voice that day. I go so far as to share this because it truly shows how he was willing to go the extra mile to ensure we were happy with the final result. I highly recommend Chad and his company for all of your videography needs, you will truly cherish all of the time and effort that he is willing to put into your special day and memories you will cherish for a lifetime.

Chad is always the primary shooter! No employees or freelancers here, just me. I handle every facet of my business from the initial inquiry through the completion of editing.
We provide digital copies and always highly recommend you back up your video files in multiple locations. We will also keep an archival back up in house for 10 years from your wedding date just in case.

I never wanted to be a large company with employees and to this day have stuck with my roots. I handle every facet of my business form initial sales calls to shooting to editing.
Yes absolutely! I am a fully licensed commercial drone pilot. Many venues are starting to require proof of license to fly on property which I will provide upon request.
A year in advance is the average booking time for video although I highly recommend locking up any vendor you really like right away to guarantee availability. Normally the deposit is 50% but I completely understand laying out multiple vendor deposits adds up quickly. I am always happy to break up the initial deposit to make things work and lock in the date if need be.
I do have rain/snow protection for my camera gear and will do whatever it takes to continue shooting in any weather.
Absolutely not! I am 100% candid in terms of my interaction with you. I have a true photojournalistic approach to capturing your day.
I do not include raw footage simply because it is not needed. Raw footage means completely untouched straight out of the camera. This includes all the not so pretty stuff too that normally would never be used nor would you really enjoy watching. Instead of raw footage every package includes a full-length completely edited documentary video which gives you everything and is SO much more enjoyable to watch than raw footage.
