Nagelkirk Gardens is the largest garden center in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula, proudly family owned and operated since 2014. With a garden center, home store, landscaping services, and of course, a unique venue. Our beautifully landscaped venue space is the perfect place for nature lovers. The grounds include a greenhouse venue for the reception, a cedar gazebo for the ceremony, one getting ready suite, and an extra lawn area tucked away behind a wisteria trellis. We can host your small, quaint wedding, or a large fun and festive event with up to 100 guests!

The Greenhouse

The climate-controlled outdoor space you've been looking for!

Previously a white tent, soon to be an intimate greenhouse venue! This 90' x 30' space features live greenery, soft natural light, large doorways, and brick paver flooring. Spring through early Winter, let the season inspire you and allow nature to be the backdrop to your wedding.

Our Woodland Cedar Gazebo is located right next to The Greenhouse for your guest's convenience. Say your "I do" s in front of this charming gazebo with luscious ferns hanging from the sides. This gazebo can be decked out with florals or look beautiful as is.

This space is designed to be a relaxing moment in a whirlwind night. Fully customizable to your vision. Fill the space with lawn games for your guests with a competitive side, or upgrade to have the fire pit lit and stoked all night long. With a wisteria trellis and a flower garden lining the Eastern side of the lawn, this space also makes a great opportunity for photos.

If you have out of town guests, this is a great option to keep gatherings in one place, as it would be perfect for a morning after brunch and/or a rehearsal dinner. We have recommendations for local breakfast pastries that can be delivered or picked up! This package includes the use of the venue for all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. All rentals purchased will be included for the entire weekend.

Description

We do offer a Ceremony-Only option for those interested. Price varies depending on the location (Cedar Gazebo or The Greenhouse). The rental includes access to the venue for 3 hours plus one hour to set-up, and one hour to tear down, giving you and your vendors more than enough time to execute the ceremony of your dreams. Availability of this package may be limited depending on the time of year & day of the week.

    Great Venue for a Wedding!

    This venue has been one of my favorites to take wedding photos at! The ceremony spot is beautiful, and there are a lot of great spots to take pictures around the venue!

    One of the best outdoor venues in Marquette County

    Nagelkirk Gardens was a dream AND a lifesaver. We opted for the entire weekend package, which left us lots of time on Friday to set up, not worry about a thing on Saurday (wedding day) and brunch/tear down on Sunday. Samantha and her staff are wonderful and do everything in their power to make your ideas come to life, ensuring a perfect day. This is the team you want behind you during your wedding day. We trusted them and they were amazing.

We require 10% of your rental fee to secure your date. This is non-refundable and non-transferable. This goes toward your total venue rental balance.

Yes, $1,000. We'd love to host your ceremony and reception here, so if you book both, we include 5 extra hours and our staff will handle the chairs being moved from the ceremony to reception.
We are an outside venue, so please dress for the occasion! Let your guests know to wear comfortable shoes (stilettos will be difficult on the lawn) and to bring a jacket.
Yes, however they must be approved in advance. It is recommended that any vendor such as caterers, photographers, DJ/band/musician to be hired for the event visit the property prior to the event date. This allows vendors that are unfamiliar with the space the opportunity to inspect the facility and eliminate any potential problems in advance.
We will discuss a plan for inclement weather when booking and planning your event. If you are concerned about the cold, we have heaters available to rent. We also have heat in our greenhouse venue.

We recommend hiring an event planner or day-of coordinator to help make sure your event runs smoothly, but it's not required.
Securing your vendors, ensuring you have insurance in place, and clean up (we recommend either hiring a planner to help with this, or designating friends or family). We have trash receptacles, and recycling available for use. Decor and trash needs to be cleaned up, but we will dispose of any recycling or trash bags for you.
Yes, we have two stalls in the womens restroom, and one stall in the mens/family restroom inside our Home Store. We also have two single stall bathrooms in our venue.
Yes, our entire property is on the ground floor. We also have accessible parking and restrooms.

Whichever your preference.
Absolutely! You will just need to coordinate all the aspects of food and beverage that a caterer would provide, including responsibility for food safety and the complete clean-up at the end of the night.
Decorations may not be hung with tape, wire, nails, or screws in a way that will damage the tent, gazebo, garden furniture, or venue property. All decorations must be removed without leaving damages the night of the event, by 12:00 AM (midnight). All candles must be contained or enclosed in glass. The flame must not reach higher than 2 inches below the height of the glass.
Yes, there will be a staff member on-site to help with set up, answer any questions, troubleshoot any problems, and manage the event through the entire day.
Absolutely! Guests may leave their cars overnight in our private event parking lot. It is limited parking space, so overflow can park in our main lot. The overnight parking though would need to stay in the event lot.
