Photographer

Chicago-based wedding and elopement photographer. I like to make my clients take off their shoes or at least get bare and honest about their love in front of my camera. I love to explore the urban environment with you and make your wedding portraits feel real and true to your life in the city. But I also take any chance I get to drag you to the woods or the beach for some barefoot wedding portraits. Aren’t we so lucky to have those right here in the city!

My goal as a photographer is to give you space for intimacy and to be you, to not repeat standard poses, but to encourage you to hold each other the way it feels right. Come explore with me what your portraits can be like!

    I found Essi after a pretty stressful engagement session with another company. I knew after our first phone conversation and seeing her work, I wanted her to be a part of our special day! Essi has such a great energy and wants to make sure the day truly captures the essence of the couple and we couldn’t be happier with our wedding pictures!! What I love most about her style is that she isn’t just in one lane but let’s the moment and picture dictate the style - light and airy, editorial, moody.     Essi's beautiful work speaks for itself, but she is also really great to work with! She's great at giving instructions and just letting people relax in front of her camera. We hired her for an engagement session and our wedding day. We truly felt comfortable with her from the very beginning.

    Essi was just phenomenal to work with. You can tell she is very passionate and serious about what she does & it definitely displayed in her work. The entire process from start to finish was seamless. Essi met with my fiance & I twice, once when we first inquired about photography for our wedding and again a month before our big day. A lot of photography agencies and freelancers will just hop on a call or zoom to meet with you, but not Essi. She made it a point to meet with us & get to know us in person. Having never serviced a middle eastern style wedding, she absolutely crushed it! She was so attentive and took her time with us; never rushed us or made us feel like we were just another booking. She got to know us on a personal level and took interest in who we were as a couple. As someone who lost a large deposit to a previous photography agency who outsourced knockoff photographers, I am so incredibly happy I stumbled upon Essi. Her work is simply unmatched, professional and so so sooo beautiful. You will not regret booking with Essi.
