Duet Photography

Hi there! We're the team behind Duet Photography & Video. We're a collection of wedding photographers, filmmakers, designers, and editors. We each have our own story of how we've come to be a part of this incredibly field of wedding journalism. As individual as we are, we're all bound by the same love for our craft – the artistry of blending documentary journalism with stunning, creative vision. With over a thousand weddings under our collective belts, we've photographed and filmed weddings of every shape and size imaginable. We can't wait to document your wedding as well!

Duet's been documenting love stories since 2005, so long ago that we used to shoot videos on actual film! Now we use the most modern equipment to create stunning work, but our focus on photojournalism and storytelling has remained the same. Our mission is to deliver works that aren't just beautiful visually, but jaw dropping emotionally.

We couldn’t be happier with Hanel, Mike and the entire Duet team! From our engagement shoot through our wedding day, they were incredibly professional, organized, and easy to work with, which made the entire experience feel effortless. We got married on May 30 at the Village Club at Lake Success and they captured every big, emotional moment so beautifully, along with all of the candid details we didn’t even realize were happening. Our photos feel timeless, natural, and completely true to the day, while our video brought us right back to the emotion and energy of our wedding. We also added on the photobooth, and we're so glad we did! The photos came out so clear and it was a huge hit throughout the night. They also did such a great job making us feel comfortable in front of the camera while still letting the day unfold naturally. We never felt like we were constantly posing or missing out on time with our family and friends, which was really important to us. They made us feel like ourselves, and I think that really comes through in the photos and highlight video. We are so grateful to have these memories captured with so much thought and care. I genuinely can’t stop looking through our photos — they are incredible! We would wholeheartedly recommend Hanel, Mike, and the Duet team to any couple looking for people who are not only incredibly talented, but who truly care about capturing your day in a way that feels personal and authentic. It was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day!

After we got engaged in December 2025, we knew that one of the most important vendors to book for our wedding was a photographer. To kick off our search, we reviewed photographers who had previously shot at our venue, The Vineyards at Aquebogue, and this led us to finding the Duet team, which was the perfect fit. We were looking for a more natural photography style and we could not recommend a better team than Duet for this exact look and for this hugely important part of our big day. From the initial conversations to the engagement shoot to the wedding day photography and videography, Hanel and team were engaged, communicative, and incredibly helpful in, as many brides know, what can be an extremely daunting process in wedding planning and of course the day itself! With Duet, we never felt like we would not be getting the most genuine and helpful answer to our many questions, and they remained patient and professional throughout. In a process with so many moving parts and details, knowing that we could rely on Duet to be our planning partner - the center of all of the different parts to our day - was so important. No question was ever too small and everything was highly collaborative. It was no surprise that our photography came out wonderfully and that our families and friends had nothing but positive things to say about them and the team. Thank you so much to Duet for beautifully capturing our special day and all of its little moments throughout - you made the experience so easy and we could not be happier with how everything turned out!

Duet was amazing!
Highly recommend Duet to anyone & everyone! Hanel and his team are extremely skilled, professional, friendly, and responsive! They were able to capture all of our special moments for all of our multiple events and were thoughtful in making sure we got everything we wanted, and also, gave excellent suggestions to get the best moments on camera. They made our wedding day a breeze and kept everything organized and flowing smoothly. Their editing and attention to detail is also exceptional. We simply cannot thank the Duet team enough for their work & we're so happy that we have such beautiful photos that we will treasure forever!

I used Duet for my June 2025 wedding and had a wonderful experience with them from start to finish. Everything from our first meeting through the weeks following our wedding day was seamless, and the communication throughout the entire process was clear, timely, and professional. My husband and I are both very easygoing and wanted to work with a company that understood our vision, could take charge when needed, but also wouldn’t overwhelm us or constantly pull us away from our celebration for photo opportunities. Duet delivered exactly that. The pre-wedding questionnaire was extremely detailed and was very helpful in making sure we had conversations about our timeline, priorities, and expectations ahead of time. On the wedding day, the lead photographer even came over to us at one point with a checklist on his phone to make sure they had captured all of the group shots we requested. Other than that, they gave us space to enjoy our wedding and worked the room naturally, capturing so many special moments without us even realizing they were there. Once we received our photos and films, Duet was also very receptive to feedback. There were a few photos that had been edited in black and white that I preferred in color, and they were happy to make those changes for me. I did express some disappointment with the length of my edited reception film. I understand that the film is an edited snapshot of the day, but I felt that it was significantly shorter than the average range that had been discussed with us during our prior meetings. That said, Duet listened to my concerns and worked with me to lengthen the film to include specific moments that I requested, which I really appreciated. One thing to keep in mind: make sure you complete your wedding album within one year of your wedding date, as there is a small additional fee if you go beyond that timeframe. Overall, Duet was an amazing company to work with. The entire process was smooth, the communication was excellent, and most importantly, we felt like we could truly enjoy our wedding day while knowing our memories were being captured beautifully. I would absolutely recommend Duet to other couples looking for a photography and videography team!

Hanel, Mike, and the entire Duet Team were amazing to work with I cannot recommend them enough to couples starting their search for a photo video team. We got married in May at Saint Ignatius in Long Beach, followed by a Larkfield Reception. From the first meeting Hanel was accommodating and considerate explaining the process and how their company works, what we can expect from them and a bit about their style as artists. He was always available to answer questions throughout the planning process and seemed happy to do so to make sure we had the coverage we wanted on our day. Day of Mike and the team showed up right on time and made everyone comfortable even with cameras popping up all around us which can always be a little uncomfortable for someone like me who does not really like my photo being taken. They did a great job of melding their artistic vision with catching us all as genuinely and naturally as possible. Making a long day of taking photos a task that was honestly enjoyable. They were able to read the room and know when someone might have needed a bit more direction (by someone I usually mean me) or if we needed a moment between shots, they made sure we got that time. When we got our photos back, we could not have been more obsessed. Picking just a few to go into an album will be an extremely difficult task everyone is so beautiful and so perfectly captures our day as it truly was not overly posed and stiff like sometimes wedding photos are. Everyone we have shared the photos with has had nothing but AMAZING things to say and I cannot recommend them more to anyone who is looking for a wedding photo and video team.
