Hi there! We're the team behind Duet Photography & Video. We're a collection of wedding photographers, filmmakers, designers, and editors. We each have our own story of how we've come to be a part of this incredibly field of wedding journalism. As individual as we are, we're all bound by the same love for our craft – the artistry of blending documentary journalism with stunning, creative vision. With over a thousand weddings under our collective belts, we've photographed and filmed weddings of every shape and size imaginable. We can't wait to document your wedding as well!

Duet's been documenting love stories since 2005, so long ago that we used to shoot videos on actual film! Now we use the most modern equipment to create stunning work, but our focus on photojournalism and storytelling has remained the same. Our mission is to deliver works that aren't just beautiful visually, but jaw dropping emotionally.

Duet was the first vendor we booked after our venue for our 8/2/25 wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning process! After looking at their website and Instagram we instantly fell in love with their style. Duet’s aesthetic was 100% what we were looking for but couldn’t find with any other photographer we researched. Hanel was incredibly communicative throughout the entire process and was very easy to work with. We also took engagement photos with them in August 2024 which gave us a first opportunity to work with Mike, who was also the lead photographer on our wedding day. We are absolutely in love with our engagement shoot and all of our wedding photos and videos. The quality and quantity of everything we received absolutely blew us away - and we got all of them faster than we thought we would. You spend a lot of time with your photographers/videographers on your wedding day, and Mike and the rest of the team were incredibly professional, polite, and a pleasure to be around during a very long day. Thank you Hanel, Mike, and the rest of the Duet team for perfectly capturing the magic of our wedding day!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Duet Photography & Video. From the moment we met Hanel and his team, we felt completely at ease. They were professional, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable, which made the entire experience feel natural and stress-free. Leading up to the wedding, we worked closely with Hanel to create a wedding timeline and a list of must-have photos, and from there, everything else was captured organically. On our wedding day, the team went above and beyond. They split their time to photograph and film my husband getting ready at one hotel and me getting ready at another, all while remaining calm, patient, and incredibly organized. They captured the most beautiful, natural moments and made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. Hanel and his team blended in seamlessly throughout the day, offering guidance when needed while never interrupting the flow of events. Our families and guests commented multiple times on how kind and professional they were and how impressed they were that Duet managed to capture both the big, emotional moments and the smallest details without ever feeling intrusive. We are so grateful to have these memories preserved so perfectly. If you’re looking for a photography and videography team that is not only extremely talented but also an absolute joy to work with, we highly recommend Duet Photography & Video.

11/10. Work with Duet. My wife and I got married in October 2025. We worked with Mike (lead photo), Paul (backup), and Hanel (point person / coordination). We also did an engagement shoot with Mike in NYC's Central Park in May '25. We also opted to have Duet run a photo booth at our wedding (recommend!). We were so lucky to work with Duet for a number of reasons: Communication - from the get-go, it was incredibly easy to work with Duet. Hanel is so on top of things and we were never waiting for an answer, in fact he was most often proactively reminding us of things and helping us think through things like day-of timing. If you haven't yet planned your wedding, responsiveness and trustworthiness in a vendor are huge pros. The photography itself - we consistently love the shots Duet has taken of us and our loved ones. I don't know much about photography, but we love the style, framing, and whatever finishing touches they use. Photos feel highly professional without crossing over into over-touched or too artsy. My wife and I were worried about where we would take photos on the day-of, to the point we were touring around near the venue and greater Brooklyn to find scenic spots. In the end, it rained for much of our wedding day, and we didn't have time to detour anyway - no problem, of course, because Mike and Paul made very ordinary backgrounds look wonderful with their photo magic, and were creative with shooting indoors and under umbrellas to make sure we still got a great first look and pre-wedding shots. Comfortability - we were really comfortable working with Mike. As mentioned, we did a post-engagement shoot in the park, more so to gain familiarity with Mike than for the pictures themselves (though they turned out great!). My wife and I are low key and I know I commonly feel uncomfortable having my photo taken. This was not an issue at all with Duet. Mike knew how to match our vibe and was never pushy - this was huge. Conservative approach - I don't fully understand the mechanics behind it, but my understanding is that Duet backs up every photo they take as it's taken so that there is an extra copy in case of emergency. They also do a lot of self-lighting for shots, which meant that while our venue of course mattered, and looked great anyway, they could have really made anything look nice with their lighting work. Pricing / value - while not the most important consideration, we felt Duet delivered a ton of value at a very reasonable price. Getting married in NYC is never going to be cheap, but we feel like we got the absolute best value for our money.
