I’m Donna Marie—the introverted, hella awkward + nerdy, all about the vibes and adventure(ish) soul that you can typically find behind the camera (rather than in front of it). I'm here to serve + empower all the introverted, awkward in-front-of-the-lens, adventure(ish) couples who want to have an authentic, non-traditional wedding experience across upstate and northern New York. What matters most are the emotions you experience as your wedding day unfolds. Whether that be in a place with easy to reach epic views, or any place or location that embodies who you are. I’m your go-to gal when you decide to take control of your wedding day.

I am a firm supporter in LGBTQIA+ rights. Discrimination is not tolerated. When you’re with me, you’re in a safe space. Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Your sexual orientation is valid. Your gender expression is valid. Bigotry can’t sit with us. Real couples are more than the white-washed, cisgendered, traditional couples you all too often see in wedding publications. The wedding industry isn’t always welcoming to those who stand outside of heteronormative expectations—I’m here for you. Straight-passing or not, conventional or otherwise, your love story is welcome here.

Description

From "Just Us" to 15 guests. Packages range from 4 to 16 hours of coverage. We work together as a team to dream, scheme, and plan your dream elopement experience. Then, when the big day arrives, I document your elopement using my talent and expertise to capture all the emotional details and moments. Please inquire via my website for my full pricing guide.

From 20 to 50 guests. Packages range from 4 to 16 hours of coverage. No matter where you are in the planning process, I'm here to help. From finding the perfect vendors, to offering officiant services, you don't have to be alone in planning your intimate wedding.     We Loved Donna!

    Hiring Donna was the best wedding decision we made! She's insanely talented, works at a ridiculously fast pace, and was so dialed in on the day, getting every important shot, that you'd think we had 2 photographers by looking at our gallery. As if that wasn't enough already, she's incredibly supportive of her couples by being queer-inclusive and super accommodating. She was such a hit at our wedding that two guests are already determined to hire Donna for their own weddings (copycats!).

Donna's communication was top-notch - she was available for questions and planning every step of the way in the months leading up to our big day. On the wedding day itself, Donna rolled with the punches when our schedule got a bit delayed but still managed to capture all the moments beautifully. You can find me in the sleepy little town of Adams, New York—which is 45 minutes north of Syracuse, and 45 minutes south of the Canadian border. I absolutely do travel, so if you have a destination in mind or you've found me and you're not from New York—please still reach out! I'd love the chance to learn more about your wedding dreams and to possibly document that for you!
I am absolutely here to help you along with the planning process—whether that be for your "Just Us" elopement, 50 guest intimate wedding, or just-because adventure session. I can be as involved as much or as little of the planning as you'd like—from location scouting to wardrobe assistance and every step in between, I've gotchu.
If you’re ready to start the booking process, drop me a line via my contact form on my website. I’ll send over my pricing guide based on what kind of experience you’re looking for. We also set up a time to chat as I want to get to know you, and your partner. Once we make sure we’re a good fit, and decide on which package you’d like, I will send over a contract for you to sign. After you’ve signed on the dotted line and paid the non-refundable retainer, you will be officially booked! (The remaining balance is due 15 days prior to your wedding day. This can be broken up into smaller payments, or paid all at once—whichever is easiest for you!)
First things first: Adventure ≠ hiking. You don’t have to hike if that’s not your thing. Some couples live for it, others not so much. And that’s perfectly okay! Not hiking doesn’t mean you can’t have an adventurous or adventure(ish) experience. There are many options for couples who may not be avid hikers, such as spending a day on the boat, going fishing, camping, taking a stroll through Cornell's Botanical Gardens, or anything else that your heart desires. Hiking or not, I’ve gotchu.
Transparently, I'm biased. I will always say opt for more coverage time. This is because you're asking me to come along and document your experience not just a list of things that happen on your wedding day. Just because you're eloping doesn't mean you should settle for 3-4 hours of photography coverage. Because then you're only telling 3-4 hours of your entire wedding day experience together.
While I do specialize in elopements and small weddings, if you're drawn to my style and vibe with who I am as a person, I'm down for celebrations of any size. If you think we'd be a good fit, reach out and let's chat. I'd love to see how I can help you document your larger wedding!
There are so many caveats to this question that it's hard to give a definitive answer. I'm about capturing all the moments that happen on your wedding day between you and your partner in an unobtrusive way with a moody, earthy touch. I'm for the couples who want their portraits to reflect them and their connection in a real, emotional, and un-posed way.
Typically with elopements and intimate weddings, no. But if you'd like to add on a second photographer, we can absolutely do that. For larger weddings, a second photographer is often included in my packages.
