Hi, Im David! I make photos! I have a bachelor's degree in Film + Digital Media, it sits on a bookcase in my house. I am obsessed with all things photography, cinema, riding bikes, Abby+Laurel, couch dates, talking, laughing, dreaming, and true crime documentaries. Abby is my ride or die. She loves all things makeup, horrible romantic comedies, nature, animals and her family. She is beautiful, supportive, a people pleaser, bad at technology and the funniest person I know. She also is the best Wife and Mom in the world! On Valentines Day, 2020 we welcomed our daughter Laurel into the world. Simply put, she is my greatest accomplishment.

I LIKE TO CAPTURE WEDDINGS CANDIDLY. I SHOOT MOSTLY IN NATURAL LIGHT. I ALSO DON’T POSE A TON, BUT WILL MAKE MINOR ADJUSTMENTS PLACE YOU IN GOOD LIGHT TO ENSURE THE BEST POSSIBLE PHOTOS.  I ALSO LIKE TO TAKE A BOLDER APPROACH BY EMBRACING SHADOWS, MOODS AND COLOR WITH AN EMPHASIS ON QUALITY LIGHTING AND COMPOSITION. I TEND TO BE DARKER THEN THE NORM. THERE ARE PLENTY OF LIGHT AND AIRY PHOTOGRAPHERS OUT THERE… I’M JUST NOT ONE OF THEM. I WANT TO TELL YOUR STORY AND WHATEVER THAT ENTAILS. THESE PHOTOS NOT ONLY REPRESENT YOUR DAY, BUT WHO YOU ARE AS A COUPLE AND ALL THE MOMENTS SPENT AND EMOTIONS FELT IN BETWEEN, MAKING YOUR PHOTOS TIMELESS.

    A delight from beginning to end

    What a wonderful experience! He was a delight from first introduction to final deliverables. With his sense of humor and down-to-earth approach, he found creative ways to capture special moments along the way in our engagement and wedding photos. (That’s right, he did both!) His whole crew was kind and professional. He is friends with our videographer and we hired them based on his recommendation. GREAT CALL and having both of their collaborative energies together was the best of all worlds.

    Highly recommend David to capture your big day

    I would highly recommend David to any couple that is getting married. He was one of the first vendors I booked and worth every penny. He was always quick to respond to emails and flexible with our requests. He also made us feel super comfortable both during our engagement shoot and the day of the wedding. He let us be ourselves and captured the moment perfectly. His style is exactly what I wanted and I’m thrilled with how our photos came out.

    David (and his assistant photographer) was a pleasure to work with! Huis photos are more natural, darker and moodier than most I found. They were professional, communicated well and knew what was important for us to capture on our day. Would definitely use him again!

    David is AMAZING!

    Best photographer out there!

    We met David through a friends wedding. We reached out to him for our wedding the following year and we’ve never looked back! He has since then photographed several friends weddings along with over 10 sessions with us and our families since then! David, his wife Abby, and his daughter have become family to us and we couldn’t be more thankful as he has captured some of the most important moments of our lives!

Typically, couples book me about 12 -18 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending the desired coverage, Determining this is usually done in our first meeting.
Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful.
No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible. I can recommend some local associates that do stellar work!
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 6-8 weeks after your wedding. During peek season, this can take up to 10 weeks.
I am a huge proponent of a curated set that tells a story. So, every photo delivered is an integral part to each couples story. Typically for each set somewhere in the 350 -700 range. Keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
In my 11 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
