Is your business licensed and insured?

Yes, absolutely. And if your venue asks you for records of our coverage, more than happy to pass those credentials along.

Question 2

Do you bring your own lighting and all equipment necessary?

Accepted Answer

Oh we're bringing lots with us. We have many, many cameras (and backups for those), all sorts of lighting sources (and backups), and even fancy modifiers too. Basically, we haul some pretty heavy bags full of all the nerdy toys to help us capture your day beautifully. We want to make sure that we bring enough equipment that we’re prepared for any and all circumstances.

Question 3

Do you follow a shot list or just capture as you see it?

Yes, and both. I (Kristen) photograph up to 70 weddings a year and there are standard shots I always make sure we’re getting (like pictures of YOU two!! and of your Grandma!) But I also believe that every wedding is unique. I use my standard “lists” as a guide but we're going to spend time getting to know you too. I'm coming to your wedding aware who’s uniquely special to you, what details matter a lot, all the traditions or cultural elements that may be unique to you, etc. My goal is that your final gallery won't be this cut-and-paste approach just like the last wedding I was at but that it's an album full of your unique-to-you memories.

Question 4

What measures do you have in place to prevent equipment failure, loss, or damage?

Your memories are once in a lifetime! We're backing up your images and we're backing them up for life. We always photograph with two cameras each and have spare cameras on us just in the wild case something were to happen to one of those. Every camera has a dual memory card slot as well so that every photograph is backed up in real time, the moment it's captured. Immediately following your wedding, all images are additionally backed up to three external locations. We have two physical hard drives stored in separate spaces as well as private and secure online storage. No way your photos are getting lost on our watch!

How long is the turnaround time for the delivery of the photos after the wedding?

Contractually, I promise a 12 week turnaround for your final gallery. But my goal is for you to have a hefty sneak peak to enjoy while you’re off on your honeymoon and for you to have your final gallery asap. Everyone gets their sneak peak within the first week and most all of my couples receive their final gallery at some point between their one and two month anniversary.

Question 6

Do you offer prints, wall art, and albums as part of your package?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We're big believers in physical art! Let's get your images in print, a literal "to have and to hold" heirloom. We have gorgeous albums, unique wall art, and quality prints available.

Question 7

How many photos are delivered? Are they all edited? Are there any black and white? Are they free from branded watermarks?

Accepted Answer

The contract states your final gallery will average a minimum of 75 images an hour but I also don’t hold back! The reality is my wedding galleries are closer to 100-150 per hour by the end. There's just always so much goodness happening all day! They are all edited and do include artfully selected black and white options that always have the color version included as well. No watermarks. These are your memories! They’re all yours!

Question 8

How will the photos be delivered? If it is from an online gallery, how long will they be accessible for?

Accepted Answer

Your images are sent to you via an online, downloadable gallery. We highly encourage that you download your gallery and save it in a safe place for yourselves. But there is no expiration date to your online gallery access. We plan to keep them up there for life as a convenience for you. If that were to ever change (and I truly don’t envision that happening), we would certainly keep you a part of that process and make sure that you were not only fully aware but had access.

Question 9

If you become sick or have an emergency or are unable to shoot on the day of the wedding, what is the backup plan?

We have never had this happen in our 8yrs of business but Kristen has filled in for others before. We're all only human and sometimes the worse case just happens, try as we might to avoid it, so we do have protection for you in case it unfortunately does. We have an extensive network of quality photographers who we work with regularly. Both in supporting them, and them supporting us. We have contract language around this but we promise to arrange and provide you with coverage that is directly comparable to Daring Romantics. We will also still be the ones doing your edits so that your gallery is consistent with what you expected of our work.

Question 10

In the case of a snowstorm or state of emergency, do you offer a refund, cancellation, credit or rescheduling policy?

Accepted Answer

In the rare event that your wedding would need to be postponed, we would definitely talk about transferring your package to your new wedding date. We would want to do all we could to be there! I do not contractually offer a refund on your booking fee but we would also handle your unique circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

Question 11

What is the deposit and time of payments?

Accepted Answer

30% is due when you sign your contract in order to book your date. The remaining balance is due one month prior to your wedding. You can set that up as a single automated payment or you can manually chip away at it as your wedding draws nearer. I do offer a 10% discount if you desire to pay the full amount up front.
