I am disappointed to read this review, as I believe it leaves out important context. While I acknowledge that my communication could have been more prompt at times, it is not accurate to suggest that nothing was ever planned. Prior to the termination of your contract, we had agreed upon both an engagement session date and location. Your engagement session was scheduled for August of this year, which was still several months away at the time you chose to cancel your contract. At the time, my priority was serving the couples whose weddings were taking place during the current wedding season. My wedding packages were intentionally priced competitively and included a complimentary engagement session. Through experiences like this, I have realized that the expectations surrounding complimentary engagement sessions can far exceed what is sustainable at that price point. Because of this, I will no longer be including complimentary engagement sessions in my wedding packages moving forward. When you decided you no longer wished to move forward, I honored your request to terminate the contract. As outlined in the contract you signed at the time of booking, the $200 non-refundable booking retainer secured your wedding date, and I declined other inquiries for that date. I would also like to add that, during this time, I was navigating an incredibly difficult period in my personal life while rebuilding both my business and my life as a single mother. While my personal circumstances are never an excuse for delayed communication, they are part of the reality of what I was balancing. I care deeply about every couple I work with, but no single wedding is my only responsibility. At any given time, I am serving current wedding clients, portrait clients, and running every aspect of my business on my own. I understand that our expectations differed, but I believe it is unreasonable to expect that I am available to provide immediate responses at all times, particularly when your wedding was still over a year away and your engagement session had already been scheduled for August.
