Chasing Light | Photo & Video is a San Diego-based wedding photography and videography team devoted to capturing the real moments that make a wedding unforgettable. The quiet glances, the uncontrollable laughter, the tears during a first look—these are the moments that matter most. With a documentary-style approach, the team focuses on preserving the genuine emotion and natural beauty of each couple’s story as it unfolds. Russ and Clara, a husband-and-wife team with more than a decade of experience documenting weddings together. Their shared passion for storytelling allows them to see moments from both an artistic and emotional perspective.

They take the time to understand each couple’s vision and tailor their packages to fit their story. All of our packages come with a free engagement shoot. We shoot on 3 high end digital cameras as well as 3 film cameras. We average 1000 individually edited photos for our weddings. We also have a 7-14 day turnaround for our albums.

The BEST photo/video team in SoCal
Truly the best experience with Russ and Clara! From our engagement shoot a year before our wedding, where Clara took stunning photos by the beach, to this March where Russ and his team came to the desert for photo and video, we could not have been happier. Photoshoots can be daunting if you're not used to them, especially with poses that feel awkward, but they make you feel so comfortable and the poses don't come out awkward once captured. When it comes to wedding day, Chasing Light is such a well oiled machine. They know what shots will be perfect and keeps everything on schedule. The photos came back SO quickly and friends and family couldn't stop commenting about how great they all turned out to be. Then comes the video and it's so special to relive everything. You get allllll the content, not just selects or highlights. It was such an advantage working with the same team that does your engagement shoot and wedding day of content because a relationship and trust forms over that time. I honestly could not recommend Chasing Light enough. If you care about your photos and videos, it's a no brainer to book Chasing Light!

Hiring Russ and Clara for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made! From our very first meeting, they were warm, professional, and clearly passionate about their work. On the big day, they were a calming presence, blending in effortlessly while still managing to capture every important moment and so many beautiful candid ones we didn’t even realize were happening. The photos are breathtaking. Every image tells a story full of emotion, light, and all the little details that made our day special. Clara has such an incredible eye and a true talent for capturing the feeling of the moment, not just the image. We received our gallery faster than expected, and we were blown away by the quality and care put into every photo. WOW!! Cannot recommend enough
From our first conversation, we knew Chasing Light Photo & Film was the right choice for us. Russ made us feel so comfortable on our wedding day with his energy, humor, and clear direction throughout the shoot. He had a wonderful vision for every shot, including all the small details that I totally forgot to ask for, but am so thankful to have lol! His work is beautiful and tasteful, and he was so good at keeping things running smooth the entire time. We are so grateful to be able to have such incredible photos to remember our special day. We also really appreciated the engagement shoot that was included in the package. Because of personal logistics, we actually couldn't do the shoot until two weeks out from wedding day. But I ended up so thankful as everything felt so familiar and fresh on the day of! And as a plus we had even more incredible photos to enjoy! We highly recommend Chasing Light Photo & Film to any couple looking for a photo team that is friendly, funny, and genuinely talented at what they do.
