We're Ashley and Dan Bilodeau - and together we make your team of adventure photographers and guides. Ya, we're husband and wife, but MORE than that, we're best friends and travel partners for life! We didn't start Ash Bilo Photography with the intent to shoot weddings - it kind of just formed when all of our passions started meshing together. Everything changed when Dan bought Ashley her first camera for Christmas, and Dan got his first drone.

Since we're travelers, we were stoked on the idea of being able to document and share all of our wild experiences on the road with friends and family. And that's where you guys enter - people who value experiences and the outdoors just as much as we do. YOU ARE OUR PEOPLE! The opportunity to document your journey into forever with your soulmate whilst roaming outdoors with you is our joy, and it will never cease to blow our minds that this is our "job".

An adventure elopement is a very intentional decision to get married in an epic location in the great outdoors, which we believe to be an experience geared toward people who value experiences more than things. For our purposes, we use the word "elopement" when describing a wedding with up to 5 guests.
If you've looked at our work, you've noticed that not a single couple looks like a deer in headlights with awkward smiles. We've been photographing couples for years and have worked with all different personality types - we're very adaptable in working with different comfort levels. We're non-invasive. Our biggest goal is to keep the two of you engaged and present in the moments of your elopement.
Due to the nature of our job, we are unable to be flexible with dates due to weather. The good news is that we embrace whatever the day throws at us, and our best advice to you is to encourage you to do the same. The success of your wedding doesn't depend on a perfect sunset - it depends on the two of you living large and being in the moment. Honestly, rain makes for some pretty killer photos.
There are different legal procedures for marrying in different locations. We find that for people who don't feel like navigating the legalities of marriage outside of their home state, the easiest option is to take care of the paperwork at home. Paperwork is literally paperwork - that's it. Your marriage isn't valid until you read your vows on the day of your choosing!
It depends so much on what we're doing and where we're going. On average, we deliver between 40-70 images per hour we spend with you. While we take way more photos than that, we choose the best images and carefully piece together a gallery that tells your story. We won't leave anything out!
While we do have specific times for just photos, a good chunk of the day is spent simply documenting your adventure. During these times, we're pretty non-invasive and take a more third-wheel approach to document your day. Documenting an elopement is just as important as if it were a big traditional wedding.
