I could give you my spill about how I started shooting with a film Minolta in middle school and that it tugged my heart so deeply I never set the camera down. But I would rather share with you what I love. What I enjoy. What I'm about. I have a passionate soul. I get way too excited too easily. I smile at just about anything. I'm terrible with names. I'm a retired certified public accountant. I'm allergic to dogs. I own WAY too many shoes. I want a tattoo of a vintage camera. I love what I do so much it takes my breath away. This is me. The real me. Not the "fake, I hope I sold you" me. Now let's see if we can make this thing work.

I catch myself so many times wishing life away and I have to force myself to stop. Take it all in. To not lose site of the little things that make this life worth living. That's why I love photography. Because those little things that you never want to forget become a permanent memory. You know what happens when you look at a photograph? Your mind is immediately reminded of the moments that happened before and after that snapshot along with the emotions you were feeling. That one photograph preserves that moment forever.

AMAZING, seriously, look no further
Amanda is a phenomenal photographer and person! She and her team are SO SO much more than just a photography team. Every step of the way she is present and committed to ensuring your day/ pictures are exactly what want. She is worth every single penny, every single time! There are truly not words to describe how caring and loving she is. I tend to get nervous and awkward in front of the camera but she had the perfect prompts and directions which made me feel so much more comfortable and confident. These pictures are going to last a lifetime and they are timeless, stunning, and elevated. There is no one I would trust as much as her!

Wedding photography
We hired Amanda for our engagement, personal photoshoot and wedding day. She was amazing to work with from start to finish, and we absolutely loved our photos! From helping us pick which package best fit our needs to walking us through our shots for the wedding day, Amanda was a dream to have by our side. She promptly answered all of our questions, made us feel so comfortable, and included personalized goodies with regular check-ins up until our big day. We didn’t hire a wedding planner and Amanda made the whole planning process so much less stressful. She’s so kind, produces beautiful art and is so easy to work with. We would highly recommend Amanda to everybody for any occasion!

Amanda May Photos is the one!
We talked to a few photographers while searching for the right one for our wedding, but none of them really felt like the fit we just didn’t have that connection. That all changed the moment I spoke with Amanda. Amanda May Photos is truly the BEST. If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would. Booking Amanda for both our engagement photos and wedding was hands down one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Amanda is one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I’ve ever met. She goes above and beyond in ways you don’t even expect so many little details leading up to the wedding that show how much she truly cares (I won’t spoil the surprises!). She does so much more than just show up on the wedding day. She is organized, responsive, creative, and SO much fun to be around. She made both of us feel completely comfortable and natural in front of the camera, which was huge for us. Throughout the day, our friends and family kept raving about her how friendly she was and how she was everywhere capturing every special moment. Amanda, we truly can’t thank you enough for being such a special part of our day. You are one of a kind. We already can’t wait for an excuse to come back to Tennessee and book another shoot with you just for fun It’s honestly so bittersweet you build such an amazing relationship for one day, and then it feels like it’s over too quickly. But we definitely don’t want that to be the case! If you’re looking for an amazing photographer, I promise you Amanda is your girl!

Amanda May Photography Review
Hiring Amanda was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. She’s photographed so many weddings and came highly recommended by several of my friends, so I already knew she would be amazing. Even though this was her first destination wedding, I never had a single doubt that she would do anything short of incredible — and she absolutely proved that right. From the sneak peeks alone, we are already blown away. The photos feel natural, emotional, and so us. She captured the energy of Cancun, the softness of the beach, and the joy of the day in a way that feels effortless. If this is just a glimpse, I cannot wait to see our full gallery. Beyond her talent, Amanda was such a calming, positive presence to have around. Destination weddings can feel overwhelming, but she made everything feel easy and fun. You can tell she genuinely cares — not just about getting beautiful shots, but about the experience as a whole. My husband and I both keep saying how badly we wish we could relive that day — it went by so fast and meant so much to us. And the most special part is knowing that through Amanda’s photos, we get to. She has a way of capturing moments in a way that brings you right back to how it felt, not just how it looked. That’s something we’ll treasure forever. I also loved that she was able to turn this into a meaningful trip for her own family. There’s something really special about someone who gets to travel to new places, create art, and give their family new experiences along the way. It made it feel even more intentional and personal. Best photographer ever!
I am beyond grateful that we chose Amanda May Photography for our wedding day. Amanda goes so far beyond just taking beautiful photos — she was truly one of the most fun, joyful, and kind vendors we worked with. She listened carefully to what we wanted, helped us build an amazing and realistic timeline, and kept everything running smoothly while staying incredibly professional. She even bustled my dress before the reception, which says everything about how much she genuinely cares. On top of all that, she surprised us with sneak peek photos between the ceremony and reception, which was unreal. Your photographer is the most important vendor on your wedding day, and Amanda was worth every single bit — I can’t recommend her enough.
