About Alysia Kristan Photo

Alysia LaMay

Owner + Lead Photographer

I started photography years ago as an elective in college and I never knew what it would become. I've always maintained full time jobs (I've been a graphic designer and special education teacher) but my passion for photography kept me pursuing it on the side. Eventually I became so consumed by my efforts that I was able to go full time in my business. I care deeply about my clients. Not only do I want you to have a great time but I want you to love your photos. I work tirelessly on always growing and refining my craft to deliver the best, most timeless photos.

My style and approach to your day is "casually luxurious." A wedding is a giant production and while there's a lot going on around you, I want you to feel a sense of calm and joy. I'm known to keep smiles on everyones faces with jokes or sarcasm, but the timeline is tight and i'll also take charge when necessary. It's important we capture everything you envisioned for your day while also maintaining the overall enjoyment of each moment. You will catch me helping to fix your dress or moving chairs if the vendor staff needs help. I am a natural team player and as long as we're all there for the same thing, everyone is my teammate.

Typically, couples book me about 13 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
I typically always bring a second shooter unless you decide you don't think you need one. We discuss this together based on the size and overall vision of your wedding photography.
Definitely. All final images will be professionally edited in my signature style.
You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 6-8 weeks after your wedding. I do provide a good amount of sneak peeks within 48 hours of the wedding.
In my 5+ years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding do to extreme illness or emergency, I’ll make sure to do my best in booking one of my many industry colleagues. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
