In my other life, I'm a secondary teacher with both undergraduate and graduate degrees in English. I understand what a difference just the right words make, and I am available to help you to craft vows that convey your love and devotion to one another.

Description

This is pretty much all most people need; I don't add in any surcharges for things like mileage or side ceremonies, because a) that's not how I prefer to do things, and b) I avoid math whenever possible.

The One With the Rehearsal

Description

This is essentially my basic package with the addition of a rehearsal held prior to the wedding. I don't wind up doing many rehearsals, but if you want me there we can absolutely make it happen.

    Great Officiant!

    David was such a pleasure to work with! Throughout the whole process he was easy to communicate with, and made sure to go over every part of the ceremony with us. He was also able to help answer some questions we had about the marriage license, and overall ensured that the entire process was easy. We received multiple drafts of the ceremony before our big day, and everything went so smoothly on the day of! David was very kind, personable, and delivered a beautiful ceremony. We loved getting to work with him, and having his great energy be part of our ceremony (it really helped calm our nerves!).

    Amazing experience - highly recommend!!

    David was absolutely amazing, and we truly could not have had a better experience. We did not start looking for officiants as early as the other vendors, and I was feeling a bit stressed about it, but David made the process as easy and seamless as possible. He worked with us leading up to the event to make sure that the ceremony felt like us and was happy to make any adjustments we wanted even right up to the event. We really appreciated that we could be as much or little involved in the details of the ceremony as we wanted. The ceremony was beautiful - not only did we think David was amazing, but we got so many compliments from our guests as well (and he also took care of all the paperwork which was very much appreciated so we could focus on all the other important things). We feel so fortunate that we chose to work with David for our wedding - could not recommend him enough.

    David is the BEST officiant around

    David was absolutely amazing — both professional and so personal at the same time! From the very beginning, he walked us through everything, from customizing our ceremony to making sure we knew exactly what to expect on the big day. He took the time to really get to know us, and it showed in every single part of our ceremony. What we loved most is that David somehow feels like both a pro and a friend. He’s organized and experienced, but also warm, kind, and genuinely cares. You never feel like just another client with him — you feel supported, understood, and completely taken care of. He was such a great communicator throughout the whole process — super responsive, always available if we had a question, and just so easy to work with. During the ceremony, he absolutely shined. He spoke clearly and with purpose, enunciating every word so that every guest could hear and feel the meaning behind what he was saying. His timing, tone, and presence were perfect — confident, engaging, and full of heart. We can’t say enough good things about David. Having him as our officiant made our wedding day even more special. We’ll be recommending him to everyone we know — near and far — just so we can see him in action again!

I started officiating weddings in the summer of 2017. I am an English teacher, and one of my first students from way back in 2004 contacted me and asked me to officiate for him and his bride, so I jumped at the chance to make that happen.
At the time of writing (April of 2025), I've performed just over 600 weddings. I'm having a blast, and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon.
Absolutely! After we meet to discuss your plans, I'll send you a draft of a ceremony on a Google Doc. Once you have that, then you can go into the document and make whatever changes/edits/revisions you want until it's exactly what you want it to be. I also work with couples to design unique side ceremonies that are special for them or tied to their heritage. From handfastings to beer blending ceremonies to a Viking Sword Exchange...there's something out there for everyone!
I do rehearals, but pretty rarely. In my experience, if you're doing your rehearsal at a venue then there's a coordinator on site who takes you through who is walking with whom and how quickly. Because we work together in advance to prepare your ceremony, there aren't many surprises coming your way as far as I am concerned, so more often than not I don't have much to do at a rehearsal. Having said that though, if you want me to be there when you walk through things so you feel more prepared, then we'll absolutely make it happen.
Of course! Plenty of couples will take care of the legal end of things beforehand for any number of reasons. Even if you're already legally married, I can still work with you to create a ceremony for your big day with family and friends.
I feel like that's way beyond my scope, folks. I don't have the training that would make me feel comfortable providing any sort of premarital counseling before your wedding.
Sure am! Since June of 2008, with a tremendous wife and partner and two kids around whom my world revolves. Life is pretty sweet.
