Hi! My name is Jena, a hair and makeup artist based in San Diego, California and Napier, New Zealand. Managing my time between these two locations, I've recently established a skilled team to support my services while I’m away. Each stylist has been personally chosen to align with my style - specializing in timeless and romantic hairstyles with textured twists and braids or a classic updo. My makeup services offer both traditional and airbrush options with complimentary lashes and high-end professional products for a long-lasting, flawless finish. This ensures you maintain your best look throughout the entire day!

As a perfectionist, I ensure every level of detail is considered at every step of the styling process. My intention is to create an unforgettable experience for you and to ensure you feel and look your best on your special day. I take great pride in crafting a premium and luxurious hair and makeup kit, dedicated to each of my client’s hair and makeup goals. When booking a service with me, you’ll have unlimited phone and/or email communication from the day you book, leading up to your wedding day. I’ll work on carefully curating your timeline to ensure your day runs as smoothly as possible.

Working with Jena and her styling team was nothing short of AMAZING from start to finish! Jena was inclusive, thoughtful, responsive, and all around incredible in the way she has curated a team of talented, friendly, & proficient artists. We don't have enough good things to say about Jena and her team! Our trials were incredible, both our bridal parties were so happy with the results, and somehow with a dual-bride wedding bridal parties - the ladies were done EARLY on our wedding day with plenty of time for touch ups. We can't recommend them enough!!!! 3

I would highly recommend Styling with Jena!
It was amazing working with Jena and her team! They were very attentive in the emails asking for number of services, start time, and end times. They were very flexible about adjusting the contract to last minute additions and were super helpful about advising me on whether to adjust to an earlier start time or to add another artist to make sure we were ready on time with minor stress. The team was super professional and easy to communicate with. I would like to personally shout out the makeup and hair artists that showed up for my bridesmaids and I! Mckenna was one of our hair stylists, she was very attentive and worked with various hair types. She was very good at accounting for what we wanted/ our preferences while offering her opinion on how to make it work with the hair type that we had. She was also great at catching minor details I think are easily missed (baby hairs, curled hair falling so she would do a tighter curl, and even bringing dyed hair spray to cover up areas of patchier hair). Her attention to detail made sure that our hair styles stayed put for a long night of fun. Mely did the makeup for myself (the bride), a few bridesmaids and my mom. She was so attentive to our skin types and preferences for makeup. She helped talk us through what she thought was best for long wear makeup styles as well as what accentuated our features. She was very good at using the inspo pics we brought in and tailoring it to suit the individuals face. She was also super sweet and gave me a kit for touch ups if I needed throughout the day and night. Magely was our all rounder that day! She did both hair and makeup for my mother in law and bridesmaids. She was super attentive and bright during the appointment. I didn't get to spend much time with her, but her work speaks for itself! Everyone was pleased with the results and she was very good at working with the individual and offering suggestions when there was a lack of knowledge on our end. Overall, I felt like Jena and her team was great to work with and super accommodating. The whole endeavor was generally stress free which was super ideal for a wedding day.

I cannot say enough good things about this hair and makeup team! We recently worked with them on a wedding in CA, and they were a total dream. They are incredibly organized, professional, and completely stress-free to work with. Everyone’s hair and makeup looked breathtaking . 10/10 would recommend them to anyone getting married!

I had such a wonderful experience working with Jena as my hair and makeup artist. I did a trial with her a couple of months before the wedding, and she was incredibly patient, attentive, and truly listened to all of my hair and makeup preferences. I ended up making several changes to both my hair and makeup throughout the process, and she was always patient, supportive, and never made me feel like a burden in any way. She was also very responsive and clear in her communication, which made the entire experience feel smooth and stress-free. I was nervous about my hair because it is very thick and coarse, but Jena was so reassuring and knowledgeable. She gave me helpful guidance on how to prep both my hair and skin ahead of time to ensure everything went seamlessly on the wedding day. On the day of, my makeup stayed flawless through many emotional moments, and it never felt cakey or heavy. As someone with acne-prone, sensitive skin, I really appreciated how diligent she was about keeping her brushes clean and disinfected between each service. My hair stayed perfectly up all night! My bridesmaids, mom, and mother-in-law also had their hair and makeup done and were all extremely happy with their results — both from Jena and her assistant stylist. I would absolutely recommend Styling with Jena to any bride who wants to enhance their natural features and feel like the best version of themselves. What she does looks effortless, which truly speaks to the level of skill and technique she brings to her work!!
