Rie is a NYC based makeup artist/hair stylist for Beauty, Fashion, Portrait Photography, and Weddings. ​ All the makeup products in Rie's kit are cruelty free. Rie's style is "Natural" and "Feel like yourself but better" makeup look!

Rie has always been really cautious about health and sanitation when applying makeup on clients and she is proudly certified by multiple disinfection and sanitation organizations. All her clients can be assured that they are safe and in good hands!! ​ Rie used to be a professional ballet dancer and has performed with companies in NYC and Canada. Rie enjoys being in nature, photography, and loves taking care of her many house plants. ​Rie also speaks fluent Japanese.

    Rie has my utmost recommendation for hair and makeup services for her talent, professionalism, and ease of communication. Rie did a wonderful job with my makeup trial for my engagement shoot by elevating my natural features so that I looked like a better version of myself. The quality of the makeup she used was excellent and lasted the entire day even in 80 degree weather. On my wedding day, Rie worked tirelessly to do hair and makeup for my sister-in-law, mother, and myself. We each had completely different requests and Rie asked thoughtful questions to make sure we achieved the looks that we wanted; nothing was impossible for her. I was especially grateful for how Rie worked with my mother as I knew she would be a little anxious about the process. Rie's kindness and patience put my mother completely at ease, and I was relieved to see my mother laughing and chit-chatting with Rie like long-time friend throughout her time on the makeup chair. For my bridal makeup, Rie was very accommodating to my requested changes from the trial we did months before as I opted for a more soft glam look for my wedding. Even though we didn't do a hair trial, Rie managed to take elements from multiple reference photos to create a customized look that was even better than I imagined. I sincerely never felt more beautiful in my entire life and it was all thanks to Rie. I hope to have another occasion where I would need professional hair and makeup services just so I could hire Rie again.

    Rie is incredibly talented and an all-around lovely person—both of which are equally important when you’re planning one of the most stressful events of your life. As someone who rarely wears makeup, I was admittedly a bit nervous to hire a professional HMUA, but Rie immediately put me at ease. She never once pressured me to do something I wasn’t comfortable doing, listened to my concerns, and made me look like an elevated version of myself—not an entirely different person. She’s equally talented with hair and gave me a loose wavy style that was exactly what I had envisioned. Rie was one of the first people I saw on my wedding day and I credit her calming presence for my own lack of stress; it’s not an exaggeration to say that she set the tone for a successful day!

    Rie was such a dream to work with! She did my hair and makeup for my engagement photos and wedding as well as my mom’s makeup. I gave her some feedback about my makeup for my engagement photos and she came prepared with changes on my wedding day. I asked for soft glam makeup and she made it look so natural and beautiful! She was super professional, sweet and friendly!
