Hello from your hairstyling hype girl! My name is Michelle; lead Hair Stylist & Owner of Modest Medusa. I am a licensed Hair Designer based in Snohomish Washington, specializing in wedding hair. With nearly a decade of experience in the wedding industry, I provide a personally customized experience & truly love my craft! I will travel to all corners of the PNW, & encourage travel beyond it. (seriously though, I love adventures). My favorite styles are soft and romantic, but I never hesitate to do something alternative and edgy. I have an eye for symmetry and balance, and I’m determined to meet each client’s hair vision.

I only book one event per day, because you deserve to have my full attention! Neither of us should feel rushed on top of an already specific timeline. I’m transparent with my clients, because not every hairstyle works for everyone. I will provide my suggestions and do what I can to ease worry and help construct a hair design that will pair well with your attire, theme, & the weather! I may only do hair, but I believe that allows you to also find a makeup artist who stands out in their own specialty! Modest Medusa is inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly, providing hairstyling services to everyone!

I do not offer makeup services, just hairstyling. However, I do find that that allows you to find a makeup artist you love, and this allows both professionals to thrive in their specialty!! :)

Their communication style is a perfect blend of funny, respectful, calming, and easy-going, which instantly put me at ease on my wedding day. The quality of their work is absolute perfection - they transformed my vision into a beautiful, artistic masterpiece. Michelle, the lead stylist, went above and beyond for the entire bridal party, creating a fun and relaxing environment while ensuring everyone's hair was stunning. In fact, she's so talented that I plan to use her as my regular stylist going forward. I can't recommend Modest Medusa highly enough - they made my special day even more perfect.

Michelle was so wonderful from the very beginning! Scheduling a trial was easy, she was open to my ideas for hairstyles and was able to create her own version of exactly what I wanted! I was so happy to have a trial to see what we would do on the day of! For our wedding, my husband and bridesmaid and I all got our hair done day of, she was timely and so fun to talk to. We were all very impressed with her. I would highly recommend her for your bridal/hairstyling needs!

Michelle has a gift. My hair is thin and flat and uncooperative. At our trial, I showed her maybe three pictures of what I was hoping could be done, and she surpassed my wildest expectations. Not only that, but she handled hair for all the ladies in my wedding party perfectly. She and Celia (who she recommended for makeup) worked together so smoothly. Everything was done on time with no rushing. Michelle gave me a relaxing wedding morning and perfect hair.

Michelle was amazing to work with. She was so helpful in helping me think about what I wanted to do with my heat damaged curly hair. She was so easy going and fun to work with. I loved having her in the bridal suite on my wedding day. She did all four bridesmaids hair and mine in record time and was able to do touch ups before the ceremony. I highly recommend Michelle as your wedding hairstylist. :)
