Hello from your hairstyling hype girl! My name is Michelle; lead Hair Stylist & Owner of Modest Medusa. I am a licensed Hair Designer based in Snohomish Washington, specializing in wedding hair. With nearly a decade of experience in the wedding industry, I provide a personally customized experience & truly love my craft! I will travel to all corners of the PNW, & encourage travel beyond it. (seriously though, I love adventures). My favorite styles are soft and romantic, but I never hesitate to do something alternative and edgy. I have an eye for symmetry and balance, and I’m determined to meet each client’s hair vision.
I only book one event per day, because you deserve to have my full attention! Neither of us should feel rushed on top of an already specific timeline. I’m transparent with my clients, because not every hairstyle works for everyone. I will provide my suggestions and do what I can to ease worry and help construct a hair design that will pair well with your attire, theme, & the weather! I may only do hair, but I believe that allows you to also find a makeup artist who stands out in their own specialty! Modest Medusa is inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly, providing hairstyling services to everyone!

Best hair stylist!!!!
Michelle was absolutely THE BEST!!!!! She is communicative, prompt, professional, and really kind and funny. It felt like a friend was getting me ready for my day, and my hair was the best it has ever looked. She executed the wedding look I wanted perfectly. I wanted a soft, low bun with soft face framing locks. I was really worried about my wedding hair because I have alopecia areata and lose quarter-sized patches of hair. I am self-conscious of my bald spots and many different stages of hair regrowth from past bald spots, and didn't want them showing. Michelle alleviated my worries, was so kind and caring towards me, and made me feel prettier than I ever had in my life. Thank you Michelle!!!!!
I love my wedding hair
I would highly recommend Michelle to anyone! I had inspiration pictures and she outdid what I had imagined. She has accessories to elevate your style and is so easy to chat with. She made me feel comfortable and definitely took some stress off of me the day of the wedding. She also did five of my bridesmaids hair and was on time and efficient. It rained on my wedding day and she did touch ups after pictures and honestly the hair still looked great even after it eventually got wet. She is so sweet and kind and I’ll be recommending her for all my friends weddings too:)
Mount Baker Elopement
Michelle was an absolute pleasure to work with for our elopement day. She was able to squeeze in a hair trial for me a couple of days before the elopement (I was traveling from out of state) and listened to exactly what I wanted for my bridal look. On the day of, she was super nice, fun, and helpful with everything. Her sister, Lauren (Mystache Photography), was my photographer and I highly recommend booking both of them together! Michelle joined us for our elopement shoot and wore many hats. She made sure everything went smoothly - like holding my jacket, touching up my hair, fixing my dress, and even helping us pop champagne for photos. She brought good vibes and helped my husband and me feel less awkward. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for our special day. Highly recommend Modest Medusa to any couple looking for a talented, personable, and reliable hair stylist!
Best Wedding Hair Stylist!
I was so fortunate to work with Michelle for my wedding at Jackson Manor, Arlington in August (2025). From our very first call, she was so thorough and thoughtful with every detail, something I had never experienced before. During our trial, about four months before the wedding, I had such a fun time imagining how I wanted to look, and Michelle was incredibly receptive to all my feedback about how the style held up. On the wedding day, she not only remembered everything we had discussed but went above and beyond to make sure every little detail was perfect. She listened, adapted, and truly made me feel cared for. My hair held up beautifully through both the ceremony and reception, and the style turned out exactly as I had imagined. I received so many compliments from my guests on Michelle’s work. I would absolutely recommend her—she’s easygoing, incredibly skilled, and makes the whole process feel effortless. You can just sit back, relax, and let her work her magic with her hairspray ;) Michelle, I only wish I lived closer to Snohomish so I could have you as my go-to hairstylist all the time!
