Scott Smith is a Chicago-based artist and founder of The Pompous Poster Co., a fine art print studio making archival posters, printed in-house on a 12-ink printer. His work favors bold line work and unconventional color, built for portraits and larger-than-life figures alike—clarity over spectacle. He believes in depth over trend-chasing: stories worth a second look, built slowly. Before Pompous, Scott was an ad creative director and filmmaker, always drawn to words as much as images. He's finally showing work he's been building toward for years—still in Chicago, still printing, still looking for interesting people to put ink to paper

Scott is collaborative, very creative and good at listening to people and hearing what makes them tick. He's fascinated with stories of how people met and what draws them to each other. He’s always looking to do something unique and different.
