Mile High First Dance

Devon is new to Zola, but not new to the work of helping couples feel comfortable on the floor! She is wedding dance instructor, teaching and performing artist, and Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Denver School of Social Dance. Her movement background spans Brazilian Zouk, Lambada, salsa, tango, kizomba, ballet, modern dance, capoeira, belly dance, and more. She is a judge for the Brazilian Zouk and Lambada World Dance Councils and is known for specific, body-aware instruction grounded in connection, comfort, consent, and adaptable movement. Devon is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Expressive Arts Coaching and Community Building at the California Institute of Integral Studies.

Lessons adapt around how you learn and move best without judgment, pressure, or assumptions about roles. Devon’s adaptive teaching approach is also informed by workshops she has taken with DanceAbility International. Mile High First Dance welcomes LGBTQ+ couples, neurodivergent and differently abled learners, and partners of all genders, orientations, cultures, bodies, ages, and experience levels.
