Grey Grimm creates custom illustration for weddings — digitally illustrated menus (with print options) and one-of-a-kind hand-lettered chalkboard designs for bar service, timelines, and welcome signs. A fine artist and illustrator (BA, CU Boulder) whose work has appeared nationally, including a Traveler’s Company USA campaign and Uppercase Magazine, Grimm also brings years of hands-on wedding event experience as a bartender and event lead. Every piece is designed around your day’s personality, turning practical signage into a lasting keepsake.

I work weddings myself as a bartender and event lead, I’ve also been the coordinator (!) so I design signage that holds up in the room: legible from the bar line, sized right, timed to the day’s flow. I offer both digital illustration (custom save-the-dates, invites and menus, with print options) and one-of-a-kind hand-painted chalkboard signs for bar service, timelines, and welcome displays. You get artwork that’s beautiful on its own and built to actually work at a real wedding. Plus, I’m a color-addict and it shows; leave it to me, I’ll make your space vibrant and welcoming. NO AI!

Basic Bar Menu

Description

The ‘Basic Bar Menu’ includes a bar menu created using Procreate (a digital drawing program) that can include typography and imagery. This option will be for printing purposes—I will send multiple file options for best results. A limited color-palette will be implemented. Three revisions are included, additional revisions will be charged at an additional $50/per revision.

Bar Menu + Table Numbers

Description

This package includes a bar menu, listed cocktails or general overview with the option to include a small illustration (pet portrait or cocktail line-art) and table numbers. Table numbers can be plain, or include a subtle border or small accent. All work will be created digitally (by hand in Procreate) and sent to you for printing. Reference images can be sent for inclusion in any artwork.

Description

Chalkboard Welcome Sign

Description

Hand-lettered chalkboard sign with colorful embellishments of your choosing. Custom options include referencing flowers from the bridal bouquet, wedding colors, animal friends, or keeping it simple with names, date and a hello! Chalkboards exceeding 20x40” will be subject to additional charges.

    Grey is Amazing!

    Working with Grey Grimm was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. She asked thoughtful questions throughout our planning process, genuinely listening to what we envisioned for our day and remaining attentive to every detail. Her artistic work is lively and truly showcased her talent and experience—the quality was exceptional. What really stood out was how receptive she was to our feedback; she approached every suggestion with enthusiasm and incorporated our ideas seamlessly. Grey brought such energy and passion to our event, and we couldn't have asked for better. She's the best!

Custom boards are created with you as the lead. I will ask about colors, if you know flowers in your bouquet, if you’re looking for something less floral and more modern, and of course, what you want featured. Is this a timeline, a menu, a quote? It can be simple, or extravagant.
This is up to you! While paying for the board, whether a-frame or free-standing, will be included in the pricing, if you do not have a need for the board following your event, you are welcome to donate it to me for repurposing, or take it with you for your backyard parties! All materials used are easily removed with a magic eraser (though there is possibility of ghosting from text being in the sun).
Bar signage (unless specified for chalk/hand-lettering) will be created digitally. I do NOT use AI to create your signs. Menus are hand drawn using Procreate with your print size as the guide. I do not print for you, but can offer insight into direct-to-consumer options; local printers or larger scale, corporate options. I can use images you send me for pet-portraits, and ask that you include some reference imagery if there is a specific design you’re going for.
Short answer, yes! I have been commissioned for napkins, table numbers and matchbook design. Table numbers have been both hand-lettered as well as digitally designed, napkins and matches fall under digital. If you have an idea, I’m all ears—I love chatting about custom options and art that is unique to your vision.
Breaking into this is a newer endeavor for me, but one that I find very exciting. I am available for ‘croquis’ — a French term that is used in fashion to showcase the model; for my purposes, I would be creating custom paintings that show-off your guests outfits. The general flow would include me taking a photo of guests as they approach me, and using watercolor, pencil and pastel to paint them. Paintings may be picked up at the end of the night and will be signed, dated packaged in plastic for safe-keeping.
If you decide to go the custom chalkboard route, I will coordinate with you whether it’s easier for me to drop the boards off, or if it makes more sense for you (or a planner) to take with them. The only instances where someone else has handled the boards, has been that they are traveling significantly outside of the Boulder/Denver/Fort Collins area. If you prefer I handle everything from start to finish with drop-off outside of these boundaries, I will include a mileage fee. *Digital items are sent to you directly for printing and other usage*
While I am adept at both, this depends entirely on your preference. Hand-lettering costs more, while digital (for example table numbers & place cards) can be done in a calligraphic style, but will have a little less human touch—NO AI is used, but it will be something that is printed v handwritten. There’s no wrong answer! Whatever works for you.
I take check, Zelle, PayPal or Venmo. Checks should be payable to me, Grey Grimm, and if taking another route, I will provide details for payment. I will ask for 50% up-front to cover any material expenses, as well as to provide a contractual understanding.
Yes. As a sole-proprietor I have to protect myself and my time. I will ask for 50% upfront to cover material expenses and ensure you are committed to the project. I offer 3 revisions within the budget, if it goes over that additional fees will accrue for each additional revision. I am happy to send you more examples of my work so you can make a final decision. Packages vary depending on what you need, but I am always happy to work with you on budget if you don’t see what you’re looking for.
