Balboa Catering is a family-owned business that offers a finer take on catered food -- one forged through Chef Alex Garfinkel's years of experience at iconic restaurants around the world. While Alex runs the kitchen, Jocelyn Garfinkel -- a veteran of New York's Tribeca Grill and Park Avenue Cafe -- manages the front of the house at our artisan-crafted kitchen and event venue in Philadelphia: Balboa at American Silk. And sometimes we get a helping hand from Little Chef Wesley and Baby Ethan.

​Our approach focuses on both quality and sustainability, which is reflected in our sourcing of responsibly raised proteins and seasonal vegetables, as well as the unique and ever-changing menus we offer our clients. We believe great meals stem from one simple principle: know what's in your food and where it comes from, because the finest ingredients produce the most delicious dishes. ​We're a boutique catering company offering a full range of services, including personal chef experiences, in-home parties, cooking classes, public supper clubs, weddings, and more. We take care of the staff and rentals needed for your event, so you can enjoy!

    Everyone raves about the food at our wedding thanks to Balboa! They are incredible. Such attention to detail, kindness, patience, sustainability and deliciousness! Everything was literally fantastic. Cocktails, mocktails, small bites and the dinner. I wish they could cook for me every night!!

    We had a wonderful experience working with Balboa. From the first call with Jocelyn, her warm and friendly attitude put me at ease. Working with Chef Alex to create the menu was a unique experience that I wasn't expecting would be so fun. Imagine planning your menu with the chef that will be cooking for your wedding?!? Balboa exceeded our expectations. The food was so delicious and so beautifully plated. I highly recommend working with them if you care about quality food!
