What began as a simple love for creating fun birthday cakes has blossomed into a true passion for designing elegant bespoke cakes for life’s happiest moments. Our cakes are known for their modern romantic feel, delicate and whimsy, and signature buttercream florals. Each design thoughtfully created to feel personal, meaningful, and unforgettable.

Melanie is the self-taught baker and creative force behind Sweet Pea Cakery LA. What began in 2014 as playful birthday cakes for her children blossomed into a passion for crafting custom cakes for weddings and heartfelt celebrations. Fueled by word-of-mouth, her signature style (romantic, timeless, and detailed) soon found a loyal following. Raised in a family where food was a love language, she infuses that same spirit into every creation, honoring life’s milestones with cakes as memorable as the moments they celebrate.

From the cake to the communication to the desserts; everything start to finish was perfection. Melanie is truly a blessing to work with, making sure every detail is addressed and always open to suggestions. Her creativity is astounding and her skill even more! I am forever grateful that I had the opportunity to experience her skills first hand and being able to have an our wedding cake and desserts made by her. The professionalism presented was amazing and the communication was great, making the entire process easier and smoother. I will absolutely be working with Sweet Lea Cakery LA again! Thank you so much for everything you’ve done!

For our wedding, we wanted to have a cake that was not only beautiful, fun, and classic, but have it taste as amazing as it looked and we can confidently say that Melanie at Sweet Pea Cakery not only hit it out of the park, but hit it out into the stratosphere! My husband and I had a clear vision for our wedding and wedding cake and Melanie was with us every step of the way refining that vision and providing us with two different tastings to ensure the three custom flavors we wanted were executed perfectly. Not only was she so patient with our busy schedules, but truly worked with us on our special day not for us. We cannot recommend her, her talent, artistry, and flavor combination skills enough! Our wedding cake not only tasted incredible to us, but all of our guests were raving about whatever flavors they had and how they were impressed that a structural cake like that was as soft, flavorful, and just straight up delicious. She also made us over 100 cannoli that we served on our dessert table and my Italian mother couldn't shut up about how they reminded her of her mother's cannoli. We couldn't have asked for a better person to handle such an important element of our wedding and we CANNOT RECOMMEND Melanie and Sweet Pea Cakery enough! PLEASE meet with her for your wedding or event - it's insane how talented and wonderful she is!
