Utah Wedding & Event Harpist

Merinda Starnes has performed as a solo, orchestra, and ensemble musician since 2007. She received her degree in harp performance from the University of Utah studying under Dr. Cathy Clayton. During her college career, she performed with the University of Utah and University of Arizona’s Wind Ensemble and Philharmonic as their principal harpist. ​Her solo performing career started at the age of 9 and since then, she has played in over 100 weddings and events.

    The BEST

    I reached out to Merinda for my sister’s wedding and she was PHENOMENAL. Super professional and so good at her job. Everyone loved listening to her and was definitely a head turner at the wedding. Everyone kept talking about how amazing the harpist was and how elegant she made the entire atmosphere. Would recommend to her anyone and everyone!

    Perfect touch to our wedding

    We hired Merinda to play harp for both the ceremony and dinner at our wedding. She was excellent to work with! Her harp music added the perfect touch to our wedding! She was very easy to work with and professional. We would hire her again!

    Amazing Utah Harpist!

    Oh my goodness I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with having Merinda play our wedding! She was so fast to respond to me, and had such amazing communication on timing, pricing, and the music that I wanted! She had such a vast selection, and even was willing to learn new song just for us. We got married up in the Uinta mountains, which was a hard long location to get to. She showed up early and was so prepared. I tell you she was a trooper, we had crazy rain and hail and she was just happy and pleasant and playing beautifully still! Carting her harp all around the camp and just was absolutely amazing. She is so talented! I cannot recommend her enough, do yourself a favor and have her play your event! Thank you Merinda!

    Merinda is amazing!!

    Merinda is fantastic. She is easy to work with, quick to respond, and is extremely professional! I feel so lucky to have had her as part of my wedding day. You will not regret working with her!

I typically wear concert black, but if you have a color scheme or style preference, I am happy to accommodate!
Yes! I love learning new songs!
I provide music for any type of event or celebration, including all wedding day needs!
I try to show up at least 1 hour. But, if I am unfamiliar with the location I usually try and get there a little earlier than 1 hour before.
Yes! I provide my own sound amplification and speaker.
I charge a travel fee for any weddings or events outside of Salt Lake or Davis County.
