Hi, I’m Stephen. I’m a professional wedding DJ and musician with a PhD in Music Composition. I help couples create weddings that feel fun, modern, and genuinely them. You won’t get a cookie-cutter playlist or a DJ who just presses play. You get a thoughtfully curated soundtrack that reflects your style, your people, and the energy you want at every moment.     We love Stephen! Music was so important to us to create those special moments of our wedding day so finding the right DJ that could MC the night was critical - Stephen did just that and more! So many of our family and friends shared with us that they loved the music lineup Stephen queued up for the night that kept the party alive all night long. Having wide variety of musical tastes ourselves and us wanting to cater to our family and friends favorites, Stephen had an ear to seamlessly blend all types of genres together moving from today’s pop/ country to our Latin favorites to classic rock, he had everyone engaged and on the dance floor. When my dad and I couldn’t decide on a song for our father-daughter dance, Stephen created for us the perfect mix of our favorite two songs. We put full trust in Stephen to select for us our exit song for the night and he nailed it. Stephen is super organized, thorough in the details and collaborative partner - a true professional that you can trust in for your special day. Stefanie & Justin

    We're so glad we entrusted Stephen with DJing our wedding! He was excellent at his job (obviously) but he also impressed us with all the small things - he was responsive and friendly, he came prepared with a very thorough preference document for us to share our tastes and requests, he had no issues setting up for both ceremony and dancing despite our wedding being in a less "traditional" venue, and he definitely knew how to read the room even with songs that he was less familiar with.

    Honestly, I would love to be friends with Stephen Downing! I loved his vibe from the beginning, and my husband and I are so glad to have booked him for our wedding in November 2025! Stephen was easy to work with from the beginning. We had a quick phone call at the inception of planning to get a rough outline of what we were looking for. Stephen provided a handy shared document for us to brainstorm the ceremony and reception music from the start of the day to the end! I was a very DIY bride, so I’m so thankful that he shared this document with us early so that I could get to work! Not only did Stephen play our favorite tunes on the dance floor, but he also announced for our whole reception and provided the setup for our ceremony. His setup is impressive and made complete by some extremely fun dance floor lighting. Honestly, working with Stephen made my wedding planning a breeze. I didn’t have to think about the actual flow of the night at all. He has weddings down to a science, taking into consideration every part of the day to make sure the vibe is always right! If my husband and I could get married again, we would absolutely pick Stephen Downing! I wish our reception could have lasted forever. I’m still wishing to get back on that dance floor with all of our friends! Thank you, Stephen, for the most magical night!

    Stephen is an incredible DJ and I can't recommend him highly enough. I could go on and on about how easy he was to work with, how great his playlists were, or how he nailed the vibes - and I can't stress enough how true these are. But the most memorable thing was a week or two before the wedding when we had our final call leading up to it. We reviewed the document he had shared and we had (partially) filled out, and talked through all of our preferences for the evening. There were still several less important details left to fill in, but Stephen told us that if we could get to them, that would be great, but if not, he'd make sure the night went well no matter what. It sounds silly and trivial, but in those final weeks before the wedding when every vendor is trying to finalize hundreds of little details, having one tell you "whatever you're able to do will be enough" is enough to make you cry tears of relief. Your wedding is going to be a memorable day, and your vendors are going to be a big part of that day. Stephen is a fantastic DJ, he nailed the vibes of the crowd and kept people dancing till they had to leave, but he's also someone you want to be a part of that day.
