Hi, I’m Stephen. I’m a professional wedding DJ and musician with a PhD in Music Composition. I help couples create weddings that feel fun, modern, and genuinely them.     Wedding may 16

    DJ Stephen Downing nailed our wedding day from beginning to end. He listened carefully to what we wanted and answered our questions quickly throughout the planning process. When the big day arrived, he read the room perfectly and switched up the music to keep everyone dancing. The dance floor was packed all night, and guests kept telling us how great the DJ was. If you're looking for someone who knows how to work a crowd and actually cares about making your day special, Stephen is your guy. We'd book him again in a heartbeat.

    Amazing wedding DJ

    Dance the Night Away!

    Do you want to have the best time at your own wedding? Hire Stephen immediately! He was organized, professional, and offered several options for music. He seamlessly played our special request songs during the ceremony. But Stephen’s skills really shone during the reception. Not only was he an exceptional emcee, he was the person who kept our dance floor full ALL NIGHT! He mixed songs so well, even though we already knew many of the songs it was like hearing them for the first time. All night no one could stop talking about how great the DJ was, including ourselves! Do yourself a favor and have DJ Stephen at your wedding, you won’t regret it! We might plan another party just to have him there!

    A Must Book DJ for your NC Wedding!

    We love Stephen! Music was so important to us to create those special moments of our wedding day so finding the right DJ that could MC the night was critical - Stephen did just that and more! So many of our family and friends shared with us that they loved the music lineup Stephen queued up for the night that kept the party alive all night long. Having wide variety of musical tastes ourselves and us wanting to cater to our family and friends favorites, Stephen had an ear to seamlessly blend all types of genres together moving from today’s pop/ country to our Latin favorites to classic rock, he had everyone engaged and on the dance floor. When my dad and I couldn’t decide on a song for our father-daughter dance, Stephen created for us the perfect mix of our favorite two songs. We put full trust in Stephen to select for us our exit song for the night and he nailed it.     A True Professional!

    We're so glad we entrusted Stephen with DJing our wedding! He was excellent at his job (obviously) but he also impressed us with all the small things - he was responsive and friendly, he came prepared with a very thorough preference document for us to share our tastes and requests, he had no issues setting up for both ceremony and dancing despite our wedding being in a less "traditional" venue, and he definitely knew how to read the room even with songs that he was less familiar with.
