I am Joshua, and I run DJ JG out of Rochester. I came to this from the lighting side rather than the music side, which is most of why my nights look different from everyone else's. I build the show before I ever load in. Every song on your list gets listened to properly and marked: where the build starts, where the drop lands, where it falls away. Then the room gets programmed to follow it.

A canopy of a thousand LEDs hung the length of the room, controlled one pixel at a time and programmed by hand to your songs before the night starts. Not a preset cycling colors while the music happens somewhere else. Most DJs bring lights on a timer. Mine follow the track: one deep wash through a slow song, a ripple end to end, a chase across the floor on the drop. When the chorus arrives, the whole room arrives with it, and that is the part people remember without knowing what caused it. I am one person rather than a roster, so whoever you plan with is who stands behind the booth on the day.
