“We are so grateful to the entire team at Melhorn Manor for making our wedding day happen!! It's hard to even know where to begin - from start to finish, every detail of the day was magical thanks to the team's hard work and expertise. When my fiancé and I started the wedding planning process, we toured plenty of venues, but we knew right away that Melhorn Manor was different in the best way. We were used to being rushed through other venue tours, dismissed because our wedding wasn't big enough, and generally being made to feel more like dollar signs than excited newlyweds-to-be. But our experience at Melhorn Manor couldn't have been further from this - we met Allory for the tour, and before we took a step through the property, he took the time to introduce himself and the Melhorn family and to share the lovely story of how Melhorn Manor came about. We didn't feel rushed or pressured like we had at other venues, and Allory really took the time to understand our vision for our big day and help us imagine it around the property. We left that day glowing and feeling sure that "this is the one!" And how right we were!! We really can't say enough positive things about our wedding day. Getting ready in the amazing bridal suite and Groom's room was such a fun and special way to kick off the day. As the ceremony approached, it was so clear that the team was all working so hard to make sure all the decor was set up, every detail was thought through, and every moment went off without a hitch. What a special and humbling feeling it is to have so many people invested in making your special day as magical and memorable as you've always hoped it would be - it's impossible to express the depth of our gratitude. Our wedding day was quite a rainy one, but the Melhorn team had a plan for everything. Melhorn Manor had the most robust rain plan of any venue we toured: some venues' plans had felt more like an afterthought, while Melhorn offers an entirely separate building that can be used for the ceremony in inclement weather. It was such a huge relief to feel like we didn't have to worry about adjusting every detail on the fly, and to go into our rainy wedding day knowing that, regardless of the weather, it would be just as beautiful and special as we always imagined. We had and continue to have SO many of our guests, both on the wedding night and afterwards, tell us that this was the best wedding they have ever been to. So many glowing comments about the beautiful venue, the fun had on the dance floor, the amazing and kind staff, and all of the countless details that go into making the day memorable. We couldn't agree more that Melhorn Manor was the perfect backdrop for our special day, and we have the incredible team to thank for all the hard work, attention to detail, and love that went into making this the wedding of our dreams. “I've drafted many versions of this review because it is so hard to do justice to the wedding experience we had with Historic Ashland (end of May 2024). From the minute we drove onto the property as prospective clients, to our exit at the end of our wedding night more than a year later, we had one fantastic interaction after the next with Leah, Amanda and team. I am a discerning person with extreme attention to detail, and I can honestly say that Historic Ashland is run flawlessly and with utmost respect and attention to their clients. From many months of planning to seeing it all come to life the day-of, I am still in awe of how perfect our day turned out. The property renovations were incredibly done with all modern amenities and events in mind, while maintaining the charm and historic qualities (not many 1800s barns out there that are immaculately clean with climate control!) We loved being able to have three separate feeling "events" on the property (ceremony outdoors under beautiful mature trees along a creek, cocktail hour on patio/lodge 1st floor, and dinner/dancing on lodge 2nd floor). Our guests traveled from far and wide, and everyone "got it" as soon as they arrived at Ashland - they saw what a truly unique and special place it is! Furthermore, Ashland's relationships with the vendor community gave us so many options to create a custom experience that was beyond what we could have hoped for. It is so common these days to be slightly underwhelmed by things, and I can say without a doubt Historic Ashland, their team, and all of the vendors completely exceeded our expectations. We couldn't be more appreciative, and choosing this as our venue was the absolute best decision. Our family & friends are still raving about it being the best wedding they've been to - and we agree! “Our sister found this place and did a virtual tour and from the very first moment we saw Lauxmont Farms, we knew this place was special, but what we experienced exceeded every expectation we had. The venue is undeniably breathtaking, but it’s the people who made it unforgettable. Every single staff member was warm, kind, and genuinely invested in our day. The decorator went above and beyond in ways I’ll never forget, hanging décor from the tent ceiling and making our vision come to life with such care. Our day-of coordinator, Ally, and our attendant, Brandon, were incredible. They were attentive, calm, thoughtful, and detail oriented in every possible way. From our first visit to our final moments on the property on our wedding day, we felt supported, cared for, and truly celebrated.
