We had our wedding at Ludlow Mansion in Monroe WI and it was fantastic. Penny and Greg are great and easy to work with throughout the entire process. Our guests continued to comment throughout the night how the venue was beautiful. Our wedding was in April and they were so accommodating to moving the ceremony to be inside instead of outside the morning of the wedding. I highly recommend going with the three day package as it made everything less stressful. I cannot say enough how happy we were to have our wedding at Ludlow and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for that all in one place for their weddings!

We got married at The Gardens Wedding Center on 6/14/2025, and it was genuinely the most perfect day. From the moment we stepped onto the property for our first tour, we knew it was the right place. It’s hard to explain, but the whole space has this peaceful, lived-in charm that makes you feel instantly comfortable. It doesn’t feel like a “wedding factory", but somewhere meaningful, with history, care, and love poured into every detail. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The gardens are lush and full of variety of flowers and foliage, with so many perfect spots for photos. The pond and tree swing were highlights for us. We were amazed that pictures taken only a few feet apart looked completely different because the landscape shifts so much throughout the grounds. The chapel is beautiful and timeless, with stained glass and cathedral ceilings, and the schoolhouse where we got ready felt cozy and private. The garage has been turned into a charming bar with rustic touches, and the outdoor tent setup was ideal for our reception. We had dinner and dancing under string lights, and it was exactly the vibe we hoped for. We also have to rave about the food. Chef Kent (Amanda’s husband) handled our catering, and everything was absolutely delicious. Our tasting appointment was honestly one of the highlights of the planning process—we had such a hard time choosing because everything was so good. What makes The Gardens so special is the team. Johan, Julian, and Amanda are just the best people. After visiting other venues that felt stiff or overly curated, we immediately felt at home here. Johan is calm, welcoming, and clearly loves what he does. Julian is a fantastic bartender—he recreated my favorite cocktail as one of our signature drinks and nailed it. Amanda is simply amazing. I sent her so many emails full of scattered thoughts and questions, and she always replied with patience, clarity, and kindness. She helped ease my nerves leading up to the big day, especially during our final walkthrough. They cared about our wedding from the start—our vision, our songs, our drinks, our colors. They were flexible, accommodating, and genuinely excited for us. Amanda was a rockstar on the day itself, somehow everywhere at once—helping us set up, checking in with vendors, making sure everything went smoothly. My mom kept saying how impressed she was with her. Planning a wedding is a lot, but having people like this in your corner makes all the difference. They’re not just good at what they do, they actually care about you and making your wedding unforgettable. We’re so grateful to them for helping make our wedding day better than we could have imagined. If you're looking for a venue that’s beautiful, unique, full of heart, and run by incredible people, The Gardens is the place.

Venue considerations

Rustic Manor was a lovely wedding venue. Our guests loved the spacious grounds, easy parking, large bathrooms, and classy rustic interior. We loved the large bridal and groomsmen suites, the payment process, the venue setting up chairs for ceremony and reception, and the professionalism of staff throughout the planning process. We did not love how expensive it was for the add ons. For a Saturday wedding in “wedding season” we paid almost 10k just for the venue and venue-specific add ons. This included string lights, nice tables, water service at dinner, use of the Photo Booth, etc. The Photo Booth did not include a guest book to put the extra slides (which we had seen at another wedding at this venue), which we didn’t realize until the night of when it was too late. The bar bill (180 guests) was about 6k. Their preferred dinner vendors were expensive and didn’t have many vegetarian options. The least expensive “preferred food vendor” was 20k for 180 guests. We *really* didn’t love that they didn’t have any signs at the bar. We were expected to purchase signs and write out the drink list, hours, and rules of the bar. Our guests did not love that there wasn’t a bartender on scene to get even water or soda prior to the ceremony. During planning, they encouraged stopping open bar during dinner, so our guests had nothing to drink for the toasts. They did not have a sound system going outside, so half of our guests were outdoors and missed all of the announcements. Our wedding was beautiful, but for a venue that “prefers” an event costing 50k, we expected more.

Venue considerations

  • Does not allow pets
  • No on-site bridal suite
  • Not wheelchair accessible
Where do I begin?! We had our ceremony at the Doubletree Hilton and wanted a space for our reception close to the hotel, but without spending an arm and a leg. We booked The Box for our wedding reception in June and everything went perfectly. We were looking for a venue that was affordable and not over priced, no food/beverage minimum, minimal setup, timeless and beautiful, and that could accommodate our guest list of 75. The Box checked alllll of these boxes. I love that we were able to arrange the space how we envisioned and choose our own caterer (we used BelAir Cantina). Jamie worked with us to select a bar package that was extremely reasonable and fit our budget. We felt zero pressure during our meetings and Jamie assured me her team would make sure the space looked lovely, and she was right! We saved money on decor by using The Box’s candles and some lamps they provide, and we brought bud vases with flowers in for table decor. They had all the tables set and ready to go for my personal assistants to set up the little details (bud vases, signage, card box, etc). Both Jamie and Jaime were a delight to work with and made sure we felt comfortable and happy. They were both very responsive and answered all of my questions. I felt like they truly cared about helping to make our wedding day successful and that meant so much to us. There seemed to be plenty of street parking and I know a few guests utilized the parking garage kitty corner across the street with no issues. 10/10 would recommend The Box for a wedding reception or any event for that matter. This space has so much potential and they can help bring your vision to life. I am so happy we chose The Box to celebrate our marriage with our favorite people!! Also downtown Milwaukee and the riverwalk are within walking distance and are PERFECT for photos, even in the rain.
