Why you'll love this venue

  • Private area for the wedding party
  • Pets can join the celebration

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Limited cleanup and setup services
  • Not for you if you don't want a rustic vibe
We loved having our wedding at The Grain Loft. The property is beautiful and it is kept in pristine condition. The ease of having the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dance all at one place made the wedding far less stressful. There was plenty of space for the kids to play outside, have yard games set up, walk around and enjoy the landscape, or hang out on the patio and chat. Guests were in awe of the beauty of the property. We also loved spending the weekend in Algoma. So many hidden gems. Thursday we had our rehearsal dinner at Three Eleven Bar & Bistro, which was excellent. Friday we had a "welcome event," for guests staying the weekend, at Son's of Skaliwags where we hosted a traditional southern shrimp boil. We had so many compliments on the food! The wedding was Saturday and on Sunday we met friends and family Smashed on the Rocks for one of their massive bloody marys! It was a perfect weekend and we can't wait to spend more time in Algoma (the gateway to Door County & a best kept secret)! Couple of things I was not a huge fan off... The venues' wedding coordinator was difficult to work with at times. Her communication style was abrasive when challenged or asked for further clarifying details. For example, my wedding planner asked for a bottle of water (prior to when the open bar started) during the preparations, and she was told she would have to purchase it. Mind you, we paid for an open bar for the duration of the entire event, costing us over 6,000.00... and they couldn't give the wedding coordinator a bottle of water. Come on now, that's just tacky and poor customer service. Another thing worth mentioning.... There is no bathroom off of the bridal suite upstairs. Therefore if the bride needs to use the bathroom before the wedding, you have to walk into the main area where guests are gathered. Not ideal, but certainly not a deal breaker. Incidentals. I was required to give my credit card for "incidentals" that would automatically be charged to my card at the end of the night. I don't think this is appropriate. If there are incidentals, I should be allowed to review a bill of such items and then make the payment following any necessary discussion. Thankfully we were not billed for any incidentals, but if a guest had broke something, I was told I would have been automatically charged.

From start to finish Castle Farms was amazing! I was sold by the first tour and knew it was the perfect place to get married! It has 4 room options all with a different vibe so you have so much creativity. I was in the east garden room and queens courtyard which was so dreamy and romantic. Bella our venue coordinator was such a huge help throughout the whole process and was always so timely and helpful when I had questions! They work with all the popular vendors in the area so everyone has great communication and as the bride I felt very relaxed on my wedding day because of that! The grounds are gorgeous and make for the most beautiful photos! Price is very comparable to other venues in the area! Would highly recommend to any couples!

The Foxglove Farm
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
Suttons Bay, MI
  • Up to 160 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $10,000

The Foxglove Farm aims to marry the beauty of the Leelanau Peninsula's natural elements with simplistic and modern design. Within the 130 year old barn are clean lines, consistent outlines of contrast and a color palette reflective of the wide open view from the cherry orchard. We believe that no two events should look the same at The Foxglove Farm. By offering a forest alcove, orchard inset, restored barn, wildflower field & lakeview outlook, the options are endless. Whether you're looking for a dark, moody farm-to-table gathering in the woods or an intimate ceremony enveloped by cherry blossoms, the 140 acres are yours to set the scene. Please reach out through our website if you don't hear back from us here on Zola!

Why you'll love this venue

  • Dressing room available
  • Natural elegance with open spaces
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • No on-premises lodging options
  • Couple must handle cleanup and setup
  • No in-house catering options
The Foxglove Farm is by far one of the most special venues in Northern Michigan, if not all of Michigan. The Barnes family took such care and gave deep consideration to the property's history and how it could best serve their clients & community when restoring the barn and planning out the space. You feel the family's warmth and thoughtfulness around every corner--whether you're a client or a vendor. From a design perspective, one of the things that I love about Foxglove is that the space really speaks for itself; not much is needed, yet so much can be done to enhance the natural beauty and make the event "yours." If I could only ever work at Foxglove, I gladly would... heck, if I could live at Foxglove I'd move in tomorrow!

My husband and I had our wedding at Bayview in July and could not have been happier! We searched just about every venue in Northern Michigan and Bayview was unlike any other - we truly believe that this will be the most popular venue in Northern Michigan in a few years. We had so many guests say it was the most beautiful venue they had ever been at and some compared it to the Catalina Wine Mixer (IYKYK). Rose was a pleasure to work with and you could feel her passion come through. She just wanted us to have the best day possible and did everything she could to make that happen!! Rose keeps special plants that attract butterflies around the venue site and during our ceremony we had 5 flying around - it was so special. Words cannot even describe the beauty of this place. There was a special ‘shack’ (updated, of course) next to a pond where my husband and his groomsmen got ready and fished before the ceremony! There is a glammed out barn that the bridesmaids hung out in before the ceremony. They even have a special area in the cherry groves with string lights that is perfect for a first look. Our wedding was better than our wildest dreams. Thank you Rose and the entire Bayview team for making our wedding the most perfect day of our lives! 10000/10
