We got married here and it could have not been a better day. It was truly the best day ever. Everything was so seamless, no stress whatsoever. Suzie and Emily were the dream team! The entire staff at Great River was amazing, so helpful, and kind. The food was delicious. All of our guests loved the venue. The French fry bar at the end of the night was a hit! From the first meeting, to the day after picking up our wedding supplies, everything was so easy and seamless. The staff at Great River decorated and set everything up with no questions asked on our side! We had complete faith that they would set everything up perfectly and they did. The food tasting was also amazing! It was so fun meeting with Chef Matt. We even did the custom chocolates for our favor and they were the perfect touch. Thank you to everyone at Great River for making our special day, that much more special. It was the most perfect day.

I cannot say enough good things about Blooming Hill Farm! From the stunning location, to the amazing staff, the incredible food, and the overall energy – everything was beyond what we could have dreamed of. We instantly fell in love with the beautifully curated, elegant farm setting. From the back field ceremony locations to the gorgeous white canvas, wooden-beam tent (and everything in between!), it was pure magic. We actually said yes to BHF without even trying the food first—and wow, we are still getting compliments on it from guests almost a year later! The fresh, farm-to-table dishes were absolutely unforgettable. The Staff: We were so lucky to work with Kate as our point person. Wow—she was outstanding. Having worked in the wedding industry myself, I know how rare it is to find someone like her. The attention, care, and professionalism she brought before, during, and even after our wedding was such a relief. From countless emails and planning meetings to the weekend-of setup, Kate and her team handled everything with ease. She made our day so smooth and peaceful—I truly couldn’t imagine working with anyone else. As a very DIY bride, I came in with lots of personal touches—guest book, memorial table, reception centerpieces, and more. Kate didn’t miss a beat. She and her team set everything up beautifully and brought my vision to life with so much care and thoughtfulness. I knew once I handed everything over, it was in the best possible hands. Our day was perfect. I know so many people say that, but I wholeheartedly believe Kate and the BHF team played a huge role in making it so. I cannot recommend Blooming Hill Farm, the team, and especially Kate enough!

We loved having our wedding at The Keeler Tavern! It was cozy, warm and intimate and the beautiful antique ambiance was just what we were looking for. Combined with the comparatively affordable price point for the area, choosing Keeler Tavern for our wedding was easy and we don’t regret it. We also appreciated the unique and affordable option to hire a Keeler Tavern Museum docent to give mini museum tours during our cocktail hour. (Our guests loved it!) Mary Ann (the point person at Keeler Tavern) was easy to work with and helped to answer all of our questions. It rained on our wedding day so we didn’t get to use the garden space for our ceremony as originally planned, but the patio tent was still a beautiful setting for the ceremony and the reception hall with all of its windows was lovely and cozy during the rainstorm. We would absolutely recommend Keeler Tavern as a venue for an intimate wedding in the Ridgefield area.

We had a beautiful wedding at the greenhouse of the Beardsley Zoo. The GlowWild light festival in the evening simply added to the magic of the event. The coordinators were wonderful in helping us set up and organize everything. If I had one piece of constructive feedback, it would just be that the head coordinator, Lindsay, was sometimes tricky to get in contact with via telephone for things like making our deposit and final payment for the venue.

Candlewood Inn fully exceeded our expectations for our wedding day. Because of them and the staff our day ran so smoothly and we were able to just enjoy ourselves. From the beginning of the planning process they were clear with all information needed, dates for planning/deadlines and easy to communicate with. We really enjoyed the way they did the group tasting as it allowed us to see the spaced with an event happening along with tasting the food, which is delicious. We loved the food on our day from the passed apps, to the stations and entrees and our guests agreed - we got SO many compliments on the food. We were happy with working with Candlewood Inn but once our wedding day actually came around we were blown away. From the second we walked into the venue the Krista and our bridal attendants were two steps ahead of us doing everything we needed to be comfortable and fully enjoy ourselves. We were never without a drink in our hands and they made sure we had all the food we needed. They kept track of my bouquet and helped me with my dress - even fixing/pinning my bustle when it broke! They wrangled our large bridal party and had the ceremony run so smoothly. I could go on and on about how amazing the staff was. I could not recommend Candlewood Inn enough!

The level of service and attention to detail was truly incredible — they thought of everything and made sure the entire night ran perfectly. The ballroom was stunning, the food was beyond amazing, and so many of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. Everyone raved about how delicious everything was (especially the cake — people are still talking about it!) and how full and happy they were by the end of the night. Nick, one of the owners, was amazing to work with from the very beginning. He gave us great guidance throughout the planning process, was always professional and attentive, and on the day of the wedding he made sure everything was perfect. We had our small family wedding at First UCC of Milford and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The natural light in the sanctuary is gorgeous, and having the option between a small chapel and larger sanctuary was incredibly helpful - we ultimately chose the larger space, which had the traditional center aisle that was perfect for our ceremony. Reverend Adam and Reverend Ashley are both amazing to work with. Adam was thoughtful, flexible, and supportive throughout the planning process, helping us figure out exactly what we needed for our intimate family celebration. He even connected us with an organist, which made the ceremony feel truly special. Practical details: There’s plenty of parking, and the church hall downstairs has AC and a kitchen, which is great for receptions or gatherings. The sanctuary itself isn’t air conditioned, but that wasn’t an issue for our June wedding. The location is unbeatable for photos! The iconic Milford town green with its bridge and duck pond provided stunning backdrops - our photographer was thrilled with the options, and those spots have been treasured by generations of couples. So many friends who saw our pictures had taken their own in the same spot, some over 50 years ago. Working with this church was such a meaningful experience that I have since become a member. We are so grateful our wedding brought us to this wonderful community.

We had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer and other staff members at the Heritage Hotel for our wedding. Jennifer was always available to answer any questions I had along the way and gave us a tour of the venue multiple times. We had our rehearsal dinner there and they set up the room beautifully. The food for both the rehearsal and wedding were delicious and there was something for everyone to enjoy. They even offer centerpieces for the tables and to set up and break down decor and assign you a maitre de for the day of that is always getting you drinks and making sure you're comfortable. The venue is so beautiful and made for the best pictures! It's also super convenient that the ceremony, reception, after party, and hotel are all in the same location so there's no need to worry about traveling. The only down fall was that we lost power the night before the wedding for a couple hours and was surprised they didn't have a generator. But would definitely recommend having your wedding at the Heritage as it's a beautiful place with professional staff who are guaranteed to make you feel so important on your special day.

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you're looking for a sleek and contemporary space

Kirby Hill Farm is a magical experience. By far my most favorite venue to flower and the most gracious hosts to work with. There is a beauty and authenticity about the farm. Surrounded by rolling hills and wide skies this gem has many perfect backdrops for gorgeous photo ops (think majestic horses grazing in the background and beautifully landscaped grounds to meander). The thoughtfully appointed farmhouse is the right size to accommodate most bridal parties and is also a stellar option for hosting intimate rehearsal dinners in front of the fireplace. The club house is loaded with character: warm wood, stone, and the original barn doors. The barn stands in contrast, industrial in feel with soaring ceilings and oversized glass doors that open up to cocktails on the pavilion overlooking the polo field below. I found tons of inspiration for my design vision right at the farm and the team there was flawless in facilitating my execution. If you love BBQ or beautifully prepared delectable food experiences you should definitely check out the farms exclusive caterer Odeens when you visit the site. Overall just sublime!

The Briarcliff Manor MADE my wedding! My guests came back saying it was the best wedding they'd been to and I highly doubt it would have been that way without their incredible staff, beautiful venue, and great food! I also notably had a few crises throughout the day (by no fault of theirs or any of my other vendors) and they handled these issues with care and grace and made it so that none of my guests recognized an issue. Particularly big shout out to Kelsey, who was extremely transparent and helped us with everything big or small throughout the planning process (also a huge help on the day of); Perry, the owner, who helped with many of the bigger things along the way as well and was lovely on the day of; and Jen, the bridal attendant, who I only met for the first time on the day of, but truly proved to be my savior when things went wrong! Also highly recommend hiring Vincenza to do decor as our chuppah was even better than I imagined it being. Overall, I am absolutely thrilled with Briarcliff and would highly recommend them as a venue. They made a day that could have been really difficult into a dream come true and I could not imagine getting married anywhere else!

Our wedding was almost 2 months ago and I can’t explain how happy I am that I booked the crescent beach club. My guests still speak about how beautiful our venue was. The food, the drinks, the service and everything was incredible. I was blessed to have stacie as my coordinator. This woman is AMAZING. She put me in sooo much ease. I wasn't worried for a second on the weeks leading up to my wedding. The day of my wedding I was lucky with beautiful weather and all our guests went to enjoy the beautiful happy hour on the beach. I didn’t worry about a single thing on my wedding day. My matrie d’ was wonderful. She made sure to check up on us, she made sure we had food and water at all times and sent us home with A LOT of food. I ABSOLUTELY recommend this place, not just for the location but for the amazing people that work there. The Abbey Inn & Spa

4.2

Peekskill, NY
  • Up to 130 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $18,000

With its views over the Hudson River Highlands, Fort Hill was a key lookout post for George Washington and his army during the Revolutionary War; in 1902, it became home to a convent and chapel, established by the Episcopal Sisters of Saint Mary. The chapel offers a unique venue for important occasions, and a peaceful English garden provides s gorgeous background for photos. Lovingly restored and meticulously designed, our hotel pays homage to its historic heritage while offering contemporary amenities and world-class service to each and every guest. All of us at The Abbey Inn and Spa are thrilled to be part of this exciting transformation, and we’re eager to share it with you.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a chic vibe
  • Provides event staff
  • Combines timeless elegance with history

Venue considerations

  • No built-in audiovisual options
  • Not for you if you are looking for something nontraditional
We recently got married in Peekskill and stayed at the Abbey and had our rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, and morning after brunch there. The building and the grounds are beautiful. The food was very good and they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions and guests needs. The rooms were nice, spacious, and very clean. Everyone had positive things to say about the events held at the space. There are two things that bring down this review. The first is that the event/sales staff is very hard to get in touch with. We left countless voicemails and sent many emails that all went unanswered. The turnover of the staff was quite high, and we never knew who we were going to be speaking with. The second major issue was that there is only one elevator and no freight elevator. The morning of our wedding the elevator was out of service. There are only 2 stories to the hotel so that is not the issue, but the wheelchair accessible room, which a guest of ours who is in a wheelchair was given, was on the second floor. Thankfully the elevator was fixed and he was able to make it to our wedding, but in the event of an emergency, we don’t know what would have happened.
