Hi! Courtney here (that's me on the left!). Shutter and Sound is the brainchild of renowned wedding videographer Ryan Geldermann. Ryan began his wedding videography career in 2010 in Los Angeles and quickly became recognized as one of the top videographers in the U.S.. After relocating to DC and still receiving countless inquiries from all corners of the country, Ryan decided to recruit and train a few talented friends so he could continue offering the quality wedding videography he’s known for in SoCal and eventually over 10 cities. Shutter and Sound is a very small group of filmmakers dedicated to turning your big day into a work of art.

We lovingly refer to our photography work as our “honeymoon baby.” We began our pursuit of photography shortly before our first wedding anniversary- mostly out of a desire to create art and serve people together. We choose to specialize in weddings for many reasons. We love each other, and when we see others who share that deep commitment to one another we can’t help but rejoice. I mainly serve the SC+ NC region. I was born and raised in Lancaster, SC. I earned my BSN degree from the University of South Carolina Upstate. Photography was a hobby for me during nursing school. Never did I think it would take me the places I have gone. Fast forward seven years later and I have photographed over 100 weddings, 1000+ sessions, and own a photography studio right inside my hometown.

I discovered my love for photography in high school when I received my first camera and I have been shooting ever since. I shot my first wedding in 2010 & since then I've captured dozens of weddings for amazing couples all over North Carolina. I believe in loving and laughing and taking full advantage of the time we've been given. I'm a smile at strangers, hold the door open, start a conversation in an elevator type of girl. But believe it or not, I'm a bit of an introvert as well. I crave solitude, naps and pizza on the regular. But hey, I'm a wife, mom of three teenagers and business owner, so solitude, naps and pizza are like staples for sanity, right? I find my peace in the mountains. I travel any chance I get. And I mean ANY chance. Hot tea gets me excited and I could live in the bathtub or shower. Oh and cheese. If you need to know something about me, know cheese.

Since a very young age I have found happiness in creative activities, and photography is no exception. During high school, I studied Art and Design and learned about composition and color. A friend asked me to join her in an after-school photography class, so I grabbed an old film SLR and learned the process of taking and developing my own photographs using a darkroom. Photography quickly became my favorite medium.

I am a professional wedding line dancer... don't believe me? ask any of my brides~ I am also an amazing dress floofer and will fluff the floof about 900 times if not more during your wedding day! I love all of the animals so bring them... i'm serious, if you have a puppy or pony or anything in between feel free to bring them to the session so I can get my boop counts in for the day! I shoot with a Canon camera, I have multiple lenses and a large array of lighting equipment to be ready for any circumstance! I have been capturing love and smiles for 7+ years and I have a degree majoring in digital photography!
