Hi! We're Michaella & Megan, the sister team behind Smile As You Mae Photography. We have the honor of documenting love stories and preserving the moments that become lifelong memories. With over 10 years of experience and more than 350 weddings captured, we've learned that the best images happen when you feel comfortable, confident, and fully present. Michaella is our lead photographer, and Megan is our lead videographer and second photographer. As sisters, we work seamlessly together to capture every meaningful moment while creating a fun, relaxed experience for our couples.

We're honored to have been voted Best of South Carolina for three consecutive years, a reflection of the relationships we build and the experience we provide for every couple. Before photography became her full-time career, Michaella attended nursing school and worked as a pediatric nurse for nearly six years. That experience shaped the way we care for our couples—with patience, attention to detail, and a calm presence throughout the wedding day. Our goal is simple: to create timeless photos and films that allow you to relive your wedding day for years to come.

These are magazine-quality photos!
Smile as You Mae was phenomenal to work with! From my first inquiry to the wedding day, Michaella and Megan were a joy and instantly made me feel comfortable. I had a lot of questions and they took the time to talk through everything with me ahead of time. We stuck to the schedule we created together and were able to get everything my husband and I wanted from the shot list, and took pictures that would fit everyones tastes (details, close-up shots, formal, fun long exposure during the reception, everything you could ask for)! They were professional and got amazing photos, but many guests stated that they didn’t even know they were there throughout the reception, which is how well they were able to blend in with the group while still catching all of our moments. I can not recommend Smile as You Mae enough! I have consistently had people state that these photos look like they belong in a magazine, so if thats the quality you want (which you know you do), don’t hesitate to book them!

Amazing!
Looking for a photographer is very stressful. This was me and my husband’s first time getting any type of professional photos done as a couple. Going through Michella photos is exactly what I was looking for! After speaking with her she was very understanding and helpful with finding a place for our engagement photos. She went above and beyond at one point of our wedding it started to rain and she asked if we wanted to take a picture. I agreed not knowing that the picture was going to come out amazing!! Never could I have thought it would’ve came out the way it did and I am so grateful!
