The Kayla Effect
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
  • Beauty professional
  • Team of 1
  • Starts at $80
  • Serves South Shore, SD

The Kayla Effect was born from a passion for art. I have always loved using the gifts God has given me. From drawing with pencils, to acrylics, to selling masterpieces of oil paintings, now to enhancing beauty with makeup! As a professional makeup artist, I believe makeup is more than products. It's seeing the look on brides faces when they look in the mirror after my glam. It's the conversations, and bringing a sense of peace to the bride on what might be a day full of nerves. It's finding and enhancing the individuality and uniqueness of each and every person that sits in my chair. I love my job, and I hope you will love your makeup!

Working with The Kayla Effect was such a smooth experience from start to finish. Kayla made me and my bridesmaids feel so comfortable while getting us ready, and her communication throughout the planning process was straightforward and reassuring. What I loved most was how natural everything looked—the makeup was exactly what I'd envisioned for my wedding day. She stayed on schedule and got through all of us without any rushing or stress. The quality of her work was amazing, and I felt beautiful and confident all day long. I'd absolutely recommend The Kayla Effect to any bride looking for a makeup artist that's both skilled and genuinely easy to work with.

Hey there!! I am located in northeast South Dakota! I have been doing photography since 2016 and loving every minute of it! I am small town girl but love to travel any chance I get! Weddings are my absolute favorite, they drive my soul!! I would explain my style as bold, authentic, strong and moody! I’m not creating images where every little piece of it is conducted and posed. I just guide you in a way that gets you comfortable and lets you unfold. So I can capture you, your love, your story, just as it is.

We have worked with Keely, capturing special moments in our life for years now and every time we work with her we have so much fun! She does such an amazing job working with our children (and my husband haha) who aren't always super cooperative when it comes to pictures. The day of our wedding she was there on time and kept us that way all day. She was professional a d had great, creative ideas for one of a kind photos. She is absolutely amazing at capturing those little moments during a shoot that arent always planned but just fill your heart with Joy. We will Continue working with Keely for years to come.

We had our wedding reception at the Huron Event Center this past June, and we couldn’t have been more impressed with both the space and the staff. From the very beginning, they communicated clearly and consistently throughout the entire planning process, which made everything feel smooth and stress-free. On the day of the reception, their team was organized, attentive, and truly wonderful to work with. They offered a selection of table décor and place settings in various colors, which made it easy to match our vision. Their experience really showed when they helped us with the space layout and design ideas. They provided thoughtful suggestions that made the room function perfectly for our guests and all the decorations we had. There was plenty of space for everything we wanted, including a large dance floor that kept our guests dancing all night, while still allowing comfortable seating and room to move around. The food was another highlight. They had a wide selection of menu options for both dinner and cocktail hour, and we received many compliments from our guests about how delicious everything was. Many of our guests also mentioned how friendly and professional the staff and bartenders were, which meant so much to us. Overall, we had an incredibly positive experience at the Huron Event Center and are so grateful to the entire team for helping make our wedding day so special and memorable. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a beautiful venue with outstanding service!

Something Borrowed Blooms was an absolute pleasure to work with for my wedding flowers. They were quick and responsive and were able to help me multiple times throughout my order. The flowers were beautiful and looked exactly like what I had seen on their website - many people told me they thought my flowers were real! I had made a mistake on my order and didn't realize it until a week and a half before my wedding, but the wonderful people at Something Borrowed Blooms not only helped me fix the issue but were so kind and calm throughout the entire process. Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.8 (100 reviews)
  • Florist
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves South Shore, SD

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
I knew I had some craft skills and did not want to hire a florist, so found Flower Moxie online to do the flowers myself for my daughter's wedding. Maria was very helpful and responsive. I scheduled a phone call to answer my questions and then placed an order for loose flowers and greenery, mixed boxes, and premade wearables and bouquets. I felt the pricing was reasonable. I ordered the vases etc. online along with extra ribbon and pins. Please know you have to refrigerate the wearables, I recommend a wine fridge for the slightly warmer temperature. The flowers arrived as described, and although the corsages seemed small, they actually wore just fine. I was able to add some color to the bridal bouquet with the loose flowers. I found the process to be low-cost, low-stress, and again Maria was so very helpful that I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. My daughter loved what I was able to do.

I'm a wedding and elopement photographer based out of Pittsburgh, PA! However, the stories I capture don't start and end there. I love to travel to capture stories all around the world.

I met Edgar, the owner of Anchor Studios several years ago when we both lived in Houston, TX. We met because I had just finished my degree and was looking for a photographer - he actually took my graduation photos! When it finally came time to book our wedding photography, I knew I wanted to go with him - no questions. His communication style is open and easy. He is responsive to all questions and requests which made the planning process a breeze. The quality of his work is truly top-notch, with beautifully curated photos that captured all the special moments of our wedding day. Hey there!! My name is Alexis and I'm so glad you're here. I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Hankinson, ND, with ties to Minneapolis as well, so I am in MN often and will gladly come wherever you are! I love the all things outdoors, especially forests and couldn't live without coffee.

I had Alexis (and Sam) photograph my wedding at the Avalon Events Center on 6/13. She was awesome every step of the way, from having a huge bag of wedding kit items, helping pose and manage family for photos, and coming up with ideas for photos to make use of the large gap of time we had between the ceremony and the grand march. I don't think I saw her and Sam put down their cameras the entire 8 hours they were there on that day, so I'm excited to get the full gallery of photos! She was also able to rush us out for some awesome sunset photos when we only had a few minutes to get them. Cannot recommend her highly enough! Her price is extremely reasonable for the great quality of service and photos she provides.

The photographer, Jonathan, and his assistant, were absolutely amazing. They arrived early, were flexible and really accommodating to our vision. They also really hustled! They took advantage of every spare moment they had to get additional photos, and kept us on schedule super tightly. They even carried around things like bottles of water for me (the bride) as we took lots of photos in the hot upper floor of the venue. Many guests also mentioned how beautifully the photos turned out. However, we did have an issue in which, due to an injury to the editor's hand, we did not receive our photos in the agreed-upon timeframe. Had we been informed of this delay ahead of time, we would not have had any issue just waiting a bit longer. The main concern was that we weren't alerted of this delay until after the initial deadline had passed. We did request a discount due to this, which they accommodated. And the photos did still turn out amazing!

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Holy moly!! Working with Brittany at The Faux Bouquets was a breeze, and our flowers looked remarkable -- and real! Nobody even believed me that the flowers were silk because they looked so legit. I would highly recommend her for any future events. And the best part is that we were able to repurpose the flowers seamlessly from ceremony to reception!

Working with Jen for our October 2025 wedding was AMAZING!! From the moment we sent in an online inquiry, Jen was attentive, responsive, thoughtful, and incredibly detail oriented. She got us set up with a project planning doc immediately, and she was SO patient with us even when we were annoyingly indecisive about our vision lol. She met with us via Zoom to answer all of our questions when we were struggling to finish the document (and she is just as thorough and helpful via Zoom as she is via email). Once we placed our final order, Jen was communicative and thorough about the process of what happened next in terms of pickup, payment, etc. When we picked up our flowers, we were ASTOUNDED by how beautiful they were. I mean, we knew they would be beautiful, but truly, WOW. Aside from bouquets & boutonnieres, we also got garlands to use as centerpieces for our guests’ farmhouse tables, as well as small wooden circle magnets with a flower on top (we wood burned the j c into them ourselves) to use as favors. And they all looked incredible. An employee at our venue said that our decor was “the best she’s ever seen this place look,” and a large part of our decor was these flowers. I cannot recommend Jen and Wood and Word Blooms ENOUGH!!! PS bouquet photo is from today (1/5/26)!! The longevity is insane!

Hiring Ali was the best decision we made for our wedding. From the very beginning, she felt like a helpful friend who was there to guide us through the planning and execution of our big day(s). She was a calm and supportive presence during our wedding weekend who made herself known when we needed her, but otherwise felt like a guest with a nice camera. Of course the photos look exceptional, but what stands out to us is her artistic eye and her excitement about her craft. She went absolutely above and beyond for us in so many ways and my family and I are forever grateful!

FêteFone® is a modern twist on the traditional guest book—where guests talk instead of write. Using a stylish vintage phone, your loved ones can leave heartfelt, funny, and unforgettable voice messages that capture the true spirit of your celebration. Your big day goes by in a flash, but with FêteFone, you’ll have the voices, laughter, and love preserved forever. Imagine hearing your grandmother’s kind words, your best friend's inside jokes, or the excitement in your guests’ voices—all at the lift of a receiver. FêteFone helps you capture the magic of your celebration—the joy, the tears, the laughter—in a way you’ll cherish for a lifetime.

We were initially drawn to FêteFone because it was such a fun and different idea—but I had no idea just how meaningful it would become. Hearing our grandparents’ voices, our best friends cracking up, and even the sweet slurred messages from our dance floor crew—it all made us laugh and cry in the best way. The setup was truly plug-and-play. We now keep our vintage mint-green FêteFone displayed on a shelf at home, and every so often we pick up the receiver just to relive that joy. It’s not just a guest book—it’s a time capsule of love. I can’t recommend it enough.
