Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you are drawn to more unconventional venues
  • No on-premises lodging options
  • No dedicated areas for getting ready
We had our small family wedding at First UCC of Milford and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The natural light in the sanctuary is gorgeous, and having the option between a small chapel and larger sanctuary was incredibly helpful - we ultimately chose the larger space, which had the traditional center aisle that was perfect for our ceremony. Reverend Adam and Reverend Ashley are both amazing to work with. Adam was thoughtful, flexible, and supportive throughout the planning process, helping us figure out exactly what we needed for our intimate family celebration. He even connected us with an organist, which made the ceremony feel truly special. Practical details: There’s plenty of parking, and the church hall downstairs has AC and a kitchen, which is great for receptions or gatherings. The sanctuary itself isn’t air conditioned, but that wasn’t an issue for our June wedding. The location is unbeatable for photos! The iconic Milford town green with its bridge and duck pond provided stunning backdrops - our photographer was thrilled with the options, and those spots have been treasured by generations of couples. So many friends who saw our pictures had taken their own in the same spot, some over 50 years ago. Working with this church was such a meaningful experience that I have since become a member. We are so grateful our wedding brought us to this wonderful community.
