Gather and Cheer

Hi. My name is Eva, great to meet you! Thinking of trusting me with planning your event? Here is a little about me. I am a Vashon Island native, former Chicago dweller and currently live with my husband and two wild boys in West Seattle. I have 10 years of experience of planning + managing gatherings for as little as 20 and as many as 500. From intimate benefactor dinners to elegant fundraisers to festive and modern weddings, I have been involved in just about every aspect of an event that you can think of.

We are at almost at a loss for words as we write this review for Gather Cheer. Hiring Eva is what took our wedding to the next level. She was always available for questions, concerns, and follow-up. She handled a number of administrative items like organizing transportation, walkthroughs, and other details with our vendors. She also offered irreplaceable suggestions to make the day smoother or to make us and our guests more comfortable. There was so much behind-the-scenes work she did for us, that we're sure we're not aware of most of it. Not only is Eva organized, she is also so kind and relatable which was what we needed through this process. We walked into (and out of!) our wedding day absolutely blown away, and really that is because of Eva. We cannot thank her enough and would recommend her for any planning needs.

I'm not a Seattle native, but I love this city. This is the city where I fell in love and got married. This is the city where both of my daughters were born. Whether you are a native or transplant, I want to tell your love story. Whether it is a specific location you love, a moment you want to recreate, or new memories you're making, your story and everyone in it is something that deserves to be captured. My business is about capturing all of the moments of life, large and small, and helping you tell that story.

Amelia Soper Photography

I’ve always been that girl who absolutely hates being left out of a good time. FOMO, amiright?! Weddings are sort of an extension of that for me. I want to be there to capture every bit of the fun, excitement and overwhelming, heartfelt joy. I work hard to get to know my clients, expecting that by the time your wedding day rolls around, you’ll consider me a friend. You’ll know me and I’ll know you and when I show up on the big day you’re both simply going to think… Hey, my friend Amy’s here. Awesome! Because the truth is this: It’s much easier to relax in front of a camera when you know there’s a friend you trust behind it.

We were delighted to have Amy Soper as our wedding photographer. Her professionalism, courteousness, and enthusiasm made our day even more special. The beautiful, professional photos she took made me feel like a Disney princess and perfectly captured the magic of our day. Amy truly shared in our joy and checked in throughout the evening to ensure everything was going smoothly. Her energy and professionalism meant this was one thing we didn't have to worry about on the big day. The only thing I would have appreciated was a bit of guidance during photos, especially for things like "your necklace is crooked" or "chin up a bit". These are things I couldn't really tell in the moment but noticed in photos afterwards. Not enough to deduct a star though, Amy was great to work with. We highly recommend Amy Soper to anyone looking for a talented and enthusiastic photographer for their special day. Her work will leave you with treasured memories you'll cherish forever.

The Ruins by Landmark Event Co

5.0

Seattle, WA
  • Venue
  • Up to 150 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor

The Ruins by Landmark Event Co is a one-of-a-kind wedding venue in Seattle’s Lower Queen Anne neighborhood. With its enchanting atmosphere, The Ruins offers a memorable setting for dining, dancing, and celebration. The venue can accommodate 150 seated guests and 300 standing, offering a flexible layout for any event. Herban Feast provides award-winning catering at all our venues, delivering exceptional food and service tailored to your event for a smooth, seamless experience.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Pets can join the celebration
  • Has a dance floor for celebration

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No on-premises lodging options
  • No built-in audiovisual options
The Ruins is like someone took all the cool bits of Seattle, threw in a dash of vintage Europe, and turned it into a wedding venue. From the get-go, the place just oozes personality. You've got walls with hand-painted murals that could have been lifted from a storybook – I’m talking vibrant colors, whimsical scenes, the works. And antlers. And trees indoors. Each room in The Ruins has its own thing going on. One feels like a swanky 1920s lounge, another like a secret garden. We had space to spare, so people could either kick back in a cozy corner or hit the dance floor without stepping on toes. The décor is this wild combo of eclectic and classic – it's like your great aunt’s house if she had more money than cigarettes and if she collected stuff from around the globe and had a killer eye for design. The library is amazing – shelves lined with books, a fireplace that makes you want to curl up with a novel, and this epic swooning couch. So, I might’ve taken inspiration from George Costanza – yep, I did a topless photo shoot on that couch. It was all in good fun, and the photos are a riot – a keepsake that breaks the mold of typical wedding seriousness, just like The Ruins itself. The food was great (but they let you bring in your own desserts so do so if you wanna save some money). The only, minor issue, is the bridal suite's location. It’s right by the kitchen, so it’s kinda like Grand Central at rush hour with the staff buzzing through. Note to brides: Swap it out for the library. Trust me, it’s much less busy (if darker) and you won’t have the kitchen hustle messing with your pre-walk-down-the-aisle zen. Honestly, The Ruins is the kind of place that’s perfect if you want a wedding that's a bit left of center but still super heartfelt. It’s quirky without trying too hard and intimate without being cramped. The whole day felt like us – not stuffy, just a big, fun, love-filled party. The Ruins has many nooks crammed with curiosities and corners begging for a photo op, it’s a place that feels alive. The mix of odd and elegant, the hand-painted walls that seem to whisper tales, the stuff like the enormous elephant (sadly, only in the back back room so only good for wedding photos not the guests) and the patterned horse and much more all adds up to a vibe that’s as unique as your weird cousin, the cool one, not the other one. The Ruins is like that one weird friend who's always got a story to tell and makes everything more fun. Having our wedding there was like a non-stop highlight reel – even with the bridal suite hiccup. It's a place for good vibes, great times, and amazing photos to start your weirdly ever after.

Brides, you want someone who knows your space when you get to planning final details like where should the bar, photo booth, etc. go. My now husband and I were also planning this wedding from Washington DC with a limited amount of time in Seattle to come onsite to complete venue walk throughs and final tastings. The Venue Manager always accommodated us, coming in on Sunday to do our final walk through. I am so relieved to say our day went perfectly as planned - not a single thing went wrong. I would highly recommend Columbia for their wine and their beautiful space, but even more emphatically because of the Venue's Manager.

We celebrated our 10th anniversary with a photo shoot by Celene, and it was an amazing experience. As a fellow Filipino, she incorporated elements from our wedding and heritage into the shoot, making it extra special. Celene was very communicative and open to my vision of incorporating our wedding day and sharing that story with our daughter. She made us feel comfortable, guiding us through every shot, and the final photos perfectly captured our love and family. Due to a recent family loss, I was overwhelmed with emotions that Celene welcomed warmly. We couldn’t be happier with the memories she helped us create. Hey! I’m Sarah Jane, your PNW-obsessed, puppy dog loving, stress-free photographer. After 5 years working in the music industry managing bands, organizing large-scale festivals, spending time on staff at a radio station, and being the lead singer & guitarist in a band, I knew I wanted to be involved in the magic of coordinating a moment. Juuust with wedding music playing in the background. ;) Now I’m completely in love with capturing special moments at weddings and engagement sessions for couples in Washington & Oregon. PLEASE INQUIRE THROUGH WEBSITE!

Awarded Best of Zola
We cannot say enough positive things about Sarah Jane, she's an absolute gem!! After watching her magic at my friend's wedding a few years back I knew instantly that I'd need her shoot to my special day as well (one day)! When my time finally came, Sarah Jane was the first vendor that we booked and afterwards everything else fell smoothly into place. Sarah Jane helped us plan a beautiful engagement shoot on Mount Baker while also taking time to help us scope out possible ceremony spots for the following year. She helped us develop a timeline for both our ceremony and our reception, and that was a HUGE lifesaver!! Then when our ceremony location had to change just two weeks before our big day due to the snow levels on Mount Baker, Sarah Jane quickly reworked our plans while still managing to incorporate everything that was important to us. She was phenomenal when it came to managing our large family in group/individual photos, completing many shots in a very short amount of time. Somehow she manages to capture all of the sentimental, candid, and funny photos all at the same time....I swear she's an absolute ninja with a dynamite personality!!!! We loved every moment we spent with Sarah Jane and we can't stop drooling over all of our breathtaking photos.

I don’t take myself too seriously. I like to have a good time. I spelI things how i want and I will never wait for a crosswalk. I prefer quality over quantity. Unless we’re talking about coffee, chocolate, wine, shopping, and deals…then i want quality and quantity. I’ve got a potty mouth and a good heart. I give so many fucks about what I do. The details, the experience and creating some real good imagery. I’m an artist and I want to create something beautiful for you.

Awarded Best of Zola
There are truly not enough wonderful things to say about Andria: our wedding simply would not have been as magical as it was without her. She was immediately part of our family, fixing my mom's hair clip, giving me advice on how to use the bathroom in a wedding dress (facing the wall!) calming my best friend's nerves, complimenting my grandmother. She was at once everywhere and nowhere at all, capturing EVERY moment in such beautiful, incredible detail and yet never ever pulling focus or getting in the way. Her photos speak for themselves and I can't possibly put into words how incredible she is behind a lens, but I will say that looking at each of the 1,400 photos she sent us (SO quickly and with tons of gracious communication) instantly transports me to each precious moment of the best day of my life. I can't possibly overstate my gratitude or recommend her highly enough-- look no further, lucky reader. You've found your photographer!!

Trinity Tree Farm boasts gorgeous views of Mount Rainier on their 40-acre hilltop nestled between Tiger and Squak Mountains. Couples can accommodate up to 150 guests at each of their gorgeous venues. The Barn and the Lodge are completely separate and each have beautiful ceremony lawns with custom arbors and benches, two firepits, two getting ready suites, a large reception space and plenty of room for dancing! Create a new tradition after your wedding and visit the farm to select your perfect Christmas tree each year!

Why you'll love this venue

  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Private area for the wedding party
  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away

Venue considerations

  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • No on-premises lodging options
  • Not for you if you don't want a rustic vibe
The Lodge at Trinity Tree Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding. We knew as soon as we toured that it was where we wanted to get married. We especially loved the arch in front of e gorgeous evergreens and that the reception hall comes beautifully decorated with hanging lights and a big chandelier so we didn't have to invest in as much decor. I'd describe the venue as elegant, timeless, and elevated Pacific Northwest. Our guests loved the s'mores at the real wood fireplace. And I loved getting to watch the wedding party walk down the aisle from the reception hall then have my bridal moment walking down the stairs by myself before meeting my parents at the bottom. Though their communication was a bit slow at times, they were always thorough in addressing our questions and concerns. The staff took care of setting up all of the tables and chairs, removing that logistical burden from our family. On the day-of, our coordinator (which we arranged through Trinity Tree Farm) Hannah ensured that we could fully focus on celebrating our marriage rather than worrying about the behind-the-scenes details. If you book with Trinity Tree Farm, definitely invest in the day-of coordinator!! We are so grateful to the Trinity Tree Farm team for helping to make our special day absolutely perfect.

There aren’t many times in your life you have your best friends and family members gathered together in one place. this lends itself to good photography. but it’s important we get good access, that we be able to photograph you from the perspective of a close friend or family member. we want to shoot your wedding from the inside out, not the outside in. when you get your photos we want to bring you back to those moments in an intimate and impactful way, so you can remember how it felt.

Hiring Melanie was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From the moment we connected, her warmth, professionalism, and grounded energy put us completely at ease. She’s not just a photographer—she’s a deeply intuitive presence who sees people in a way that is rare and sacred. Throughout the planning process, Melanie communicated with such clarity and kindness. We always felt informed, cared for, and completely confident in her. She truly went above and beyond—balancing artistry with organization, professionalism with deep presence. On the day itself, she floated through our space like a calming force, capturing moments we didn’t even realize were happening until we saw the images. Her work is stunning—rich, emotional, soulful. Every frame feels like a memory you can feel. She captures not just what things looked like, but how they felt. Our Super 8 film made us both cry. The textures, the movement, the way she threads nostalgia into the modern moment… it’s magic. What we appreciated most, though, was her. Her energy, her grace under pressure, her dedication to getting it right—not just technically, but energetically. Melanie holds space in a way that makes everyone feel safe and seen. That’s something you can’t teach. If you are lucky enough to work with her—do it. She is a true artist, a steady hand, and a beautiful human. We are forever grateful. - Rachel

Hi! I'm Betty. Your Pacific Northwest Adventure Wedding Photographer. I am a curator of stories, and I tell those stories in photos. Your love story is important to me, and I want to tell that story with your wedding photography. I’m a Seattle wedding and elopement photographer who loves travel and hiking in the PNW. I am often a guide to my couples helping them plan the best wedding day or elopement they can imagine.

My husband and I chose Betty to document our wedding day and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Betty was so easy to work with and professional, guiding us through the photography plan and details with utmost care. Planning the wedding ourselves wasn’t easy, but we never had to worry about the photography with Betty as our vendor. She was always on top of communication, getting back to us in a prompt, friendly manner with clear information. She also accommodated a space change at our venue just days before the wedding. Betty’s images of our special day are simply breathtaking. We love the compositions, color, emotions, and how thoroughly she captured each part of our wedding. On the night of, we received a preview gallery to share with family & friends that evening which was fantastic. When it came time to view the complete set, we were struck with joy, and our guests had highly positive feedback, too. I know we will treasure these photos for a lifetime! We also worked with Betty on our album design which turned out stunning. We were in awe of her quick turnaround on the layout work. The process of reviewing and refining each spread was so fun and professional! We absolutely recommend Photography by Betty Elaine for anyone looking for an incredible, experienced photographer. Betty’s talent is a true gift, and we can’t thank her enough.

PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE FOR THE QUOTE AND INQURY After working eight years in New York City within the fashion industry, I decided to develop one of my childhood passions, art. Since I was a child, I viewed the world through an artist’s eye with an especially adoring love for floral design. Colors and textures - even the way they move. All of this comes together to tell my clients' unique story through floral design. To me, nothing is more fulfilling than starting with a blank canvas, bringing together just the right pieces, and letting the visual narrative flow on its own.

HIGHLY recommend working with A la Chloe for your wedding, her work is SPECTACULAR. Chloe is so kind, I really felt like she cared about me and my vision. We had lots of communication up front and Chloe was always so quick to respond. We met at the venue to look at the space together and then had a design meeting to go over the whole day. Chloe had such great images and inspiration to share that really helped me picture what the wedding would look like. She gave me different options for each floral arrangement (ie. 2 options to pick for my bouquet, 2 options to pick for the centerpieces) and that really made me feel like we were working as a team. On the day of, Chloe went ABOVE AND BEYOND. I had the most beautiful ceremony flowers I could have ever dreamed of. Chloe and her team even worked outside through some rain on the morning of the ceremony to give me my dream archway. We had so many comments from our guests about how amazing the florals were. Overall, Chloe is amazing. You feel like you're working with a friend that has your best interests in mind. 10/10!

Bond in Bloom

  • Starts at $150 per arrangement
  • Serves Seahurst, WA

At Bond in Bloom we pride our selves in creating thoughtful, imaginative and beautiful floral designs for life's big moments. We arrange and style flowers for all occasions and are available for travel throughout the beautiful Pacific Northwest region.

Shelby at Bond in Bloom was incredible to work with. We had ideas of florals we wanted for our wedding but Shelby was able to tie all our ideas together and really bring them to life. We had our ceremony and reception in two different locations, and Shelby was one of the only florists we spoke to who would be able to reuse flowers from the ceremony and bring them to the reception. Her suggestions were irreplaceable and the floral arch she created really made the ceremony site special. Additionally, the flowers on our dinner tables were gorgeous and like nothing we had ever seen before. Shelby truly went above and beyond while still working with our budget. We highly recommend her for any floral needs!
