It's hard to put into words how talented and wonderful Tess was to work with. When we first connected, I was immediately drawn to her vision, how collaborative it felt she was, and how she was willing to work with me on planning a less traditional wedding weekend. Aside from some very general direction, I really gave her creative freedom to do what she thought would be best, and then her first proposal exceeded anything I could've imagined so it was a no brainer to work with her. The year of working together was just as great as that first interaction—she is extremely organized and detailed, takes initiative to handle things that were able to be taken off of my plate, and is just clearly so passionate about what she does, and that is reflected in her work. During the wedding weekend, she and her team took on tasks that were outside of what they should've been handling, but did what they thought needed to be done to make my life easier and to make the vision come to life. I was so grateful to have her around for the weekend. But above all of that, the flowers were absolutely incredible. I can't tell you the number of people—both who were at the wedding and who weren't even there—that approached me or reached out to me to tell me they were the most gorgeous flowers that they had ever seen. There wasn't a single person who wasn't blown away by them, my husband and I included!! Long story short.. work with Tess. You won't be disappointed.

Wintertide Floral

5.0

Portland, ME
  • Starts at $3,500

My foundation in floral design began on a small flower farm in Vermont over 10 years ago, where I immersed myself in the full lifecycle of the work—planting, harvesting, and arranging blooms directly from the field. That experience shaped my style: deeply seasonal, textural, and guided by an intuitive understanding of form and color. My aesthetic is loose and intentional, layered with luxurious texture and touched by a sense of intentional wildness. A steward of sustainable design, I avoid floral foam and plastics, and aim to use local materials wherever I can to have the lightest footprint on our planet possible.

Jenny’s florals for my wedding were an absolute dream, she completely nailed my vision within my budget and I couldn’t have gone with a better florist. Her work is stunning and I received non-stop compliments on her beautiful and unique arrangements. She totally understood my color scheme and vibe, and everything, especially the bridal bouquet, was perfection!! And to top it all off, Jenny is a wonderful and kind person to work with. 110% recommend!

Her vision, skill, and professionalism made her hands down the best vendor of the day. People came up to me all weekend asking about the flowers - it was all her idea, and all her execution. This is who you want for your wedding day.

Petals Flower Farm

5.0

  • Starts at $3,500
  • Serves Portland, ME

Petals Flower Farm is a small flower farm that grows, harvests, and curates flowers for you. Our passion for growing flowers is why we love showing off these blooms on your special day. Every element, from the soil, the sun, and the tender loving care, is where your flowers begin. Our team has been digging in the dirt and playing with flowers since they were girls. Our designers know the seasons and the flowers and can complement each piece uniquely. Our 'fresh from the garden' floral designs will complement your day perfectly.

From my first call with Brooke she was kind, easy-going and so professional. Choosing the amount of flowers seemed like such an overwhelming task but she offered excellent guidance. She brought my vision to life, creating stunning, artistic floral designs that exceeded our expectations. My bridal bouquet was the prettiest I've ever seen, running laps around all the Pinterest inspo pics I sent her. The high quality of work and affordable pricing made Petals Flower Farm an excellent value for our wedding. We were thrilled with the final results and would highly recommend them to any couple planning their special day.

Milkweed Floral Co.

5.0

  • Serves Portland, ME

Hi! I’m Iris, the mind, body, and soul behind Milkweed! As a lot of dad’s like to joke, my name must be a birthright into floristry. In all honesty, it really has been a constant thread throughout my life. From picking flowers in my mom’s garden, to working in a flower shop in Boston right after college, then tackling florals for my own wedding in 2021, and eventually freelancing for event florists around Maine - I fell head over heels for wedding florals!

Awarded Best of Zola
Iris at Milkweed Design Co exceeded every expectation I had for my wedding in 2023! I love flowers and wanted a lot all over the venue, but I didn't specify know which ones I wanted. Iris created the perfect design that I was imagining but couldn't put into words myself. She suggested and constructed an elaborate show stopping floral installation on a tree welcoming guests to the venue and offering an unique backdrop for photos! The colors, textures, and attention to detail were perfection! Each arrangement completely transformed the space into something magical. It was clear how much care, creativity, and passion went into every aspect of Iris' work. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the flowers at the time, and to this day, it's the one thing everyone still brings up! If you’re looking for someone incredibly talented, hard-working, and thoughtful—someone who truly cares about her craft and the clients who trust her with one of the most important days of their lives—look no further!

At Nectar & Vessel our ethos is sustainability + bliss-forward designs. We specialize in arrangements that are full of texture, unique and lush. Awarded Best of Zola
Working with Naomi for our wedding florals was a DREAM and an exceptional experience from start to finish. We cannot recommend her and her team at Nectar and Vessel highly enough to other couples getting married. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was hiring Naomi and her team and giving her complete creative freedom. She took that freedom, and spun floral magic into the most beautifully designed space we have ever seen. Her love for florals, and for creating beautiful moments for others shines in her work - and isn’t that what you want on your wedding day? To be surrounded by love through flowers that all your guests can feel? That’s the magic Naomi brings to weddings that is impossible to replicate. The floral designs and artistry that Naomi and her team created for our day were simply stunning. Beyond being beautiful, they were unique and felt personal to us. It was the talk of the wedding that none of the guests had ever seen a display like the florals at our wedding, and that each tablescape and design felt like a work of art. A few things additional things about working with N&V we’d like to highlight: Design and vision: Naomi not only executed a vision for our wedding florals and design, she shaped it from the very beginning. The proposal powerpoint was a detailed mood board of not only the florals, but the overall vibe and design for the wedding. For the bride or groom, like me, who was overwhelmed with how to make a wedding feel cohesive, personal, and intentionally designed, trust in Naomi to help jump start that process and hire her as one of your early vendors. Flawless logistics and professionalism: Working with N&V was completely stress free because Naomi and her team are true professionals. She was respectful of our budget, had a clear, well-structured contract, and payment through her professional portal was incredibly easy. Everything was delivered, set-up, and cleaned up flawlessly and on-time. Importantly, if there were any issues day-of, we didn’t hear about it or take on any of that stress (though with her careful planning, I bet there weren’t any fires to put out!) While these sound like boring logistics, all of this professional preparation on N&V’s part saved us a ton of time and stress wedding planning. Positivity and good energy: Naomi herself is the warmest and most effusively positive person - that was clear from our very first consultation call with her and was even more true on the day of our wedding. We felt showered in positivity throughout our experience working with her, which is exactly what you want on your big day! We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Nectar and Vessel, and specifically, Naomi and her wonderful team. Hire her early, trust her to work her magic and give her all the creative control, and then watch your wedding venue transform. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 2018, Jessica opened her first studio out of her home to pursue her passion.

The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!

We are a regenerative specialty cut flower farm in Pittston, ME, about an hour north of Portland and 20 minutes south east of Augusta. We grow, harvest and arrange all our own flowers and foliage right here on our family farm using zero harmful chemicals. We are foam-free and work with Mother Nature to provide seasonal blooms for the highest quality wedding design.

She was so attentive to hearing my ideas for wedding bouquets, and was able to grow flowers specifically to meet the colors/vibes I was hoping for. I selected her a-la-cart florist services, and received bouquets, corsages/buttoners, and 2 large statement pieces for the altar. They all brought the color pallet of the wedding together in a cohesive way. I was absolutely stunned by the colors and creativity of my bridal bouquet especially. She provided clear instructions for pickup and preservation and I really feel I got the best life out of my flowers by following her instructions. As a bride conscientious of prices, I appreciated that she was willing to work within any budget without some absurd minimum order amount that I’ve seen from some wedding florists.
