From the beginning my 3 non negotiables for our wedding were FOOD,FLOWERS, & PHOTOS. And when I tell you Bre delivered and exceeded my expectations I am not lying. I booked with Bre after having a weird gut feeling with a previous wedding floral designer. The energy was off and I didn’t feel heard with the other designer but after my initial consultation call with Bre, I not only felt heard I felt as if I was talking to a friend. Our first call was one hour and it felt like 10 minutes. She understood the sentimental importance of florals for me personally and gave honest insight on design and cohesion. She didn’t dismiss what I thought I wanted. Instead she gave BETTER and more realistic options of availability during the time of year we were getting married (JULY in VA in no joke… LOL) I not only felt heard but increasingly validated by Bre and all nerves about the design of the day melted away. Seeing my vision come to life with her collaboration & expertise was truly breathtaking and a part of our wedding that people but mostly myself will never forget. Looking at our florals and design for our wedding it is something truly timeless but also unique and wild at the time. It is EXACTLY what I wanted and turned out better than imagined. All the florals I had saved and envisioned over the years from bridal magazines, Pinterest, and even mine and my late mother’s favorite florals were incorporated into our special day. On a personal note, Bre was so diligent and intentional when it came to my late Mothers “ In Loving Memory of” chair during our ceremony ,that is easily one of the most sentimental moments of our wedding. For that alone, I am eternally grateful. Bottom line, you absolutely cannot go wrong with booking with Poppin Peonies and Bre. “Bayou Haven was the venue of my dreams. The chapel and large reception barn offer plenty of space for guests. They also feature an area for outdoor ceremonies in front of their pond, complete with a pergola archway and fountain. There is a large bridal suite with plenty of room for the entire bridal party to get ready, it even has a bathroom. It also has a large grooms suite with a tv and bathroom. They have plenty of guest parking and we loved the natural beauty of the entire place. They have a honeymoon cabin on site as well, it was just a bit over our budget so we opted to stay elsewhere. Overall we had a beautiful wedding and really appreciate the details Sam and his team have put into Bayou Haven.”

My name is Ali Cushing, a NY-based/working anywhere, visual storyteller who captures the authentic experience with intention. It's feeling, and it's found in the whirlwind and the still moments, in heightened emotion and calm, and above all, celebrating what makes you and your partner exactly who you are with the people you choose to surround yourself with. In my work composition serves to frame the feeling, with permission to be raw, outrageous, reserved, and unabashedly yourself. I make photos about the day and not the day about the photos. All couples of all genders, ethnicities, ages, faiths, shapes and abilities, are more than welcome.

I was impressed with her portfolio and I really loved seeing how she would capture little moments in the weddings she had done. We set up a video call before booking and we clicked. She is very calm and helped with my pre-wedding nerves. She worked with us on a payment plan and she was always very quick to respond to any of my questions. She really listened to what we wanted. She got to the venue early to scout out different shots and came to check in with me a couple of times before we even began taking photos, which I did not expect but was very sweet and considerate of her. When we were taking photos, she really helped to guide the more “posed” photos but she also captured a lot of beautiful candid moments. We had so many guests come up to us and compliment her and that was before we even got the photos back. She sent us our sneak peeks the next day and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. She captured so many beautiful moments and her style is exactly what we wanted. Nothing felt “overly edited” just perfectly genuine. I cannot recommend Ali enough. I cannot wait to see the full gallery of photos because I know they will be nothing short of perfect.”
